Three page interview on Season 5.  Below are just a bit of what they discuss.  I am excited they are doing more residential cases.  They do a case in Georgia (traveling exhibit) on haunted Titanic artifacts.  They have new equipment.  The one that got me was the unbiased investigation of the new inn they just bought by Barry and the international team.  Unbiased? Uh?

J & G action figures, Halloween costunes, My First EMF Detector, and a video game.  A new book in the fall.

Question: What do we have to look forward to on Season 5?

Jason Hawes: "You know, we've also gone back to getting a lot of residential cases as well, which I think is always important. We got some strange things this year. And not just that, we even kind of shake things up a little bit. Grant and I bought an inn that was reported to have been haunted for the last 70, 80 years. We had the GHI [Ghost Hunters International] guys come in and investigate that … just so there was no bias there."

Grant Wilson: "[We’ve] got a good team and we brought in a lot of new equipment that we're using, which I think everyone's going to appreciate. And like Jas said, we're getting into more of the homes again. But we're still doing the big locations. Obviously not necessarily big all the time but well known."

Hannah, Good link.
Although after reading it my head may not stop spinning for a few days.
Best comment, "We still consider ourselves plumbers". HUH?

Anyone want to make bets on the possibility of the Spaulding Inn being haunted?
Any takers? Givin' odds.

No bias?  Yeah, sure.  And if they are excited about this new season, it sure didn't come across on camera.

About the supposed haunted Titanic exhibit–if it's the same one that I saw many years ago at one of the AC casinos, there was absolutely no mention of any hauntings.  Wonder if this is the same one?  And, if so, why tack the "haunted" label on it?

Interesting.

I'm curious Oubliette on how they are going to investigate a collection of display cases at the Titanic exhibit.
My guess is most of that episode will be scenes of J&G playing Mike Nelson(you oldsters' out there know of whom I refer)in the aquarium and frolicking with the fishies'.

blinddog,

I'm in on the Spaulding Inn action …

I'm guessing two EVPs, one that sounds like "ssssssssss" and is translated as "try our free continental breakfast" and the other one that sounds like "ssssssssss" and is translated as "get out now! but don't forget to check out our web site for room specials."

I'm also going to wager on moving shadows, a blurry full-spectrum image, a vibrating bed and — wait for it — EMF spikes!

Would that be Mike Nelson, of "By this time, my lungs were aching for air." fame?

Actually, this was pretty funny:

Grant Wilson: We have thought about doing a ghost swimsuit calendar where all you see are just swimsuits. You can't see who they're on because they're on ghosts,…

Nice find, Hannah. Some interesting, odd stuff in there. Still hanging on to the, "We're all just old friends" story line. For some reason, I thought this sounded odd. When talking about GHI investigating Spalding Inn:

I don't know that we could have asked them to do that in the beginning, but now they're certainly more than qualified. So we're proud of them. They're doing a good job.

I thought they were already friends and experienced ghost hunters. Ehh, I'm just pickin' some nits.

And finally, a swipe and some old friends?

Jason Hawes: I think they're (GHI)  doing great. They've had some changes to the team that have really benefited them.

I….I'm thinking.

I'd love to see Most Haunted investigate the Spaulding Inn. Given the level of hate between the shows, it would be the only place they'd consider not haunted.

Wes,
You could be right.
However one more EVP could occur as "phfffft", which translates as "don't steal our towels".
The dining experience could possibly be a little disconcerting as at anytime your waiter could scream "Did you see that!", the bartender hollers "What the fig!" and the busboy yells "Dude run!"
But, as you check in at the Spaulding Inn and despite creaks, groans, disembodied voices and footsteps in the hallways.
Rest assured the toilets should work well.

P.S.: Let's not forget the newest renovation to the inn.
'Grant's Monofilament Funhouse'.

OK, this moment from the interview has me puzzled:

Question: I was wondering what tips you might have for amateur ghost hunters?

Grant Wilson: Okay. Well, yeah. Stay away from the occult. That's one.

I guess he and I have different ideas of the occult! I mean, I always thought of ghosts as part of the "occult." (The word just means "hidden.") He's probably talking about pagan/Wiccan religious practices.

Great link.    I laughed all the way through and agree with all the comments.    Right from the get-go I noticed that they had the names switched in the picture.    One more Evp: "zzzzz" translated as "stay another night and I will show myself to you as a vibrating bed".     And the answer for the amateur ghost hunter from Jason would be make sure your partners string or fish line is very thin.

Hmmm

After all the line-up changes, aren't most of GHI from GH?   Dustin?  Joe Chin?   How they consider that unbiased again?

Undecided

I've found that being AWESOME is a full time job…

Thanks for the trip down memory lane and reminding me I'm an "oldster"!  LOL!!!  Mike Nelson – whoa – I haven't heard that name in ages.  As far as Spalding being haunted – they say nothing of it on the Spalding website which I found interesting.  I guess if you're looking for the Inn, you already know the J&G connection and are ready to book.  I also posted some info in the forum regarding the b&b a few days ago.  To be fair, this place has always had a very nice reputation so I'm not sure what they actually changed and the 200 acres it's situated on in the White Mountains are absolutely beautiful.

However, I checked out the Inn but could find absolutely nothing about any paranormal incidents prior to J&G's announcement of the purchase when they laid the groundwork by saying they and their wives had some experiences.  The thing to remember is they have had an all access pass to the Inn and have been "refurbishing" it since they bought it.  So, given GH's past of closing/opening doors, a breaking glass, fishing wire, and many questionable incidents, expect to hear about a lot of paranormal experiences coming from this place.

Oubliette:

Was the AC Titanic exhibit the same one they had at the Seaport in Phila.?  I just asked a couple friends who went to the PA exhibit if they heard anything about "haunted" Titanic artifacts and it was a resounding no!

I can only say that since the Titanic episode will include looking at artifacts in glass cases, I hope someone tells the Director of the exhibit about Steve's history of opening/touching things.

Mike Nelson?I was thinking of  Mike Nelson on Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

You know the show that started with Joel Hodges, and later Mike tookover, with Gypsy, Servo and Crowe T.robot, and they showed cheesy movies and made comments to the action on the screen?I loved that show, it was great.Saw it all the time on Comedy Central.I'll have to buy from Amazon if they have them some of the old episodes.

I don't see how Jason and Grant can run an inn, do a tv show and work for Rotto Rotter.

After re-reading the interview I have determined that Grant had to have been stoned.
I mean really, look at some the answers to the questions asked and Jay having to rebound for him.

Leslie,
My day was going too well and I felt the need to punish myself so I read it twice, that and Mistress Joan won't do office visits.
She told me to watch GH tonight and said that would be bad enough.
Then she billed me $35.

Come to think of it she never did give me a safe word for while watching GH.

On the Sci Fi Wire    http://scifiwire.com/2009/03/haunted-inns-and-titanic.php

Haunted inns and Titanic spirits in new Ghost Hunters

One of the coolest cases the team will investigate is at the Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the world, Wilson said. "And they have a traveling Titanic exhibit with actual artifacts from the Titanic," he added. "And everywhere that goes, every museum that goes to, supposedly activity follows. So we caught up with it in Georgia, and I had just an interesting time there dealing with the Titanic artifacts."

One other location the guys couldn't help but get involved with is the Spalding Inn, a haunted inn that Hawes and Wilson bought. When members of their families began having experiences, they brought in the Ghost Hunters International team to investigate.

They are really pushing the haunted Titanic artifacts and the Inn the guys bought.

"We're looking for answers. We're looking for the truth, and we're also trying to help out as many people as we can," Hawes said.   Look behind you Jason, it is just Grant with a coathanger.

All this post is from the SciFi Forum.  Wonder when they are going to lock this thread?
From Jason's myspace:
"Spalding Inn now taking limited reservations for April!

http://requests. bookingcenter. com/enquiry. phtml?port=BC&site=SPALD
You can check out the inn at
http://thespaldinginn. com

Now please understand that the Inn is still under some construction. Your stay will not be effected by it though. It is mainly outside cosmetic work that can not be finished till the warm weather rolls in.
Rooms are also limited.
Some Inn rentable rooms are still under construction and will be finished soon, as they are finished their availability will become rentable and listed on the site.
We are trying to get everything open for those looking for rooms for the Mt. Washington event."

Comments posted:
I think I will go and steal all the hangers from the closet..
Is this the Inn that Jay and Grant bought?
The one they bought and then miraculously found out it's actually haunted?
Forget stealing the towels, go there and steal the ghosts.
Or the equipment which makes the ghosts appear….
