My thoughts 1 minute into it:

Director: "Tonight we're going to pull them in by showing some cleavage in the opening plumber's shot. No, not that kind, you idiot!"

Another wasted hour.     They are using the same weekly script – J&G see something almost immediately which no camera sees, the girls see something which no camera sees, etc.

A couple of times someone said that there was a camera where they saw something and they wanted to see if the analysis caught it.    Never did.    I'm surprised they didn't edit those out.

I almost busted a gut when the paranormal expert Steve explained that spirit orbs glow from the center out or some other nonsense.     I must have missed when that was proven beyond a doubt.     How can he say that nonsense with a straight face – I can't wait to see what other theories he imparts on the academy.

The Congress Theater – Top Ten List of Things We Learned

10. The Spalding Inn sells t-shirts, too.

9. Jay can hit a stall door in a bathroom and make it sound 'scary'.

8. Kristyn Gartland should never, ever wear sleeveless shirts.

7. Dylan, the building manager, was HOT! Embarassed

6. The high EMF 'theory' is now being stated as fact.

5. Moving around causes changes in barometric pressure.

4. Britt is obviously an expert on both projection operation and boilers.

3. Paranormal orbs are bright in the center; debris orbs are a 'reflecting' brightness.

2. Is there an area of Chicago in which the Mob DIDN'T meet???

And, the number one thing we learned….

1. "Being still enhances the natural ability to observe"

What the H-E-Double Hockey-Stick units was Steve calling barometric pressure out in? They were not inches of mercury, they weren't millimeters of mercury, they were not psi, they weren't pascals, and they were not millibars…it's early in the morning so I may have forgotten a unit or two of measure but if so, that meter was using something REALLY obscure! And if he was only reading the last two digits of any of those, well, it was changing substantially enough that they should have gotten the bends since I don't think he preceded any of his readings with "point"

Edited after noticing the below post so I can savor the moment and make sure that I reserve #700 for something very profound :)

Yeah they went on to spew the EMF turns you into a frothing at the mouth, brains eating mindless zombie thing again. Except this time there was an audible cue of 60 Hz buzzing from the switch panel, which Jason could feel in his feet. They mis-interpreted this to be a direct effect from EM fields rather than from low frequency audio… the name of which just escapes me now. Must be all those high EMF fields I expose myself to all the time affecting my memory.

Brains…. must eat more brains.

Edit, I was thinking of infrasound, although I just learned this only applies to 20 Hertz and less.

Learjet, it is DEFINITELY the EMF fields…would you like an aspirin? Wink

Did anyone else fall asleep during the second half of GH and wake up watching DT and wondering why they were climbing around some ruins

Wasn't me… just asking.

Once again the cameras where looking at the investigators and not what is being investigated. I am convinced they could have caught creditable things in the past if they just had the camera pointing in the right direction.

I'm convinced they would have caught nothing on camera in the past, if the cameras were pointed in the right direction, as there was never anything to see.

I agree I think in some instances they may very well have caught a shadow, etc. if they hadn't been so focused on the investigators. Now,when they went to the Iron Island Muesum in Buffalo Ny,they did an interview with Kris Gartland. She was standing there talking and you clearly hear the door open and such. This was caught on video and audio by the production crew. So it is indeed possible to do. Unfortunately when  one of the camera guys turns to see what Jay and Grant or someone else sees, the shadow if really there has disappeared.

Would like to see GH go to Bachelor's Grove or Resurrection Cemetery or one of the other Chicago cemeteries that are haunted. I think the water tower is haunted there too.

And that's right, the mob was all over Chicago, like that's any surprise.

A couple of times when they saw shadows they stated that there were cameras set up where the shadows were but nothing turned up in analysis by dumb and dumber (Tango & Steve or Steve & Tango, your choice).     I agree with Learjet there was nothing to see.

If you can actually see something, especially repeatedly, why wouldn't a camera pick it up too? It doesn't make sense to me. The most exciting idea I had during the show was that I would like to climb up the catwalk area where all the lights went out, and that spiral staircase! WoW! SurprisedLaughing I noticed that J&G seem to know a lot about electricity. That must be common plumber knowledge.
Oh my goodness! The other day at work I had three of the five light bulbs go out at once! There's a ghost at my job!

Here's an article from the Chicago Sun-Times re the Congress Theater         http://www.suntimes.com/entertainment/wiser/1835881,CST-FTR-paige21.article

Interesting link, phillyk…so, out of all the notoriously haunted locations in Chicago, they choose a location that is so steeped in paranormal activity, even local ghost hunters have never heard about it!

On a totally childish side note, I had to laugh when I read the caption of the picture they had of TAPS. They identified Tango as "Brian Harnois".  The article also states that Houdini performed at the theater in the '30's…kind of strange considering he died October 31, 1926. Great fact checkers they have there at the Sun-Times!

Thanks for the link phillyk48.  Very interesting.  Gee Amy gets creeped out everywhere.  I'm surprised she comes to NJ to investigate as much as she does with GH/TAPS.  We aren't called the "Soprano State" for nothing.  Why it would bother her about things of the old past when here she should be more worried about things in the more recent past around here is laughable.

One of the things that has not been mentioned yet was the huge "Welcome Ghosthunters" on the marquee outside the theatre.  Like that wouldn't have encouraged anyone to check out what was going on inside!  They even posted the date!

I do feel sorry for Tango though.  Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.  And what's with the pictures of those two individuals in the article that said they were "featured"?  Did I miss something?

As far as Steve and Tango, I think they are just two rather nice guys just trying to keep their supporting jobs and following script – nothing more.

Did anyone notice during the "reveal", at the time of Grant mentioning K & K in the basement and discussions of the noises, there are a full pulled back shots of them all sitting and talking where you can see the doorways above and a figure walking back and forth?  It's just to the upper left corner of the monitor.

I have to say I absolutely loved the architecture of this building, especially the lighting fixtures.  One of the true "movie palaces" of long ago.  As far as Harry Houdini performing there, I think the article took their cue from Dylan who stated to GH/TAPS that Houdini appeared there in the 1930's.  Angelayo1970 is correct in that Houdini passed away in 1926 and the building wasn't completed as a movie theatre until 1926  so I don't think he performed there.  Then again….

Yeah the Sun TImes sure got it wrong when they said Tango was Brian Harnois.  I first read the caption under the picture and thought "Brian???"  What in the heck is Brian doing in that photo, then I saw it was Tango.  And then they have the pictures of the 2 local ghost hunters who never heard about the supposed hauntings at the Congress but the Times saying they're featured in the episode…they werent in the episode and why would they be since they had never heard of anything happening there.  Sun Times sure didnt get its facts straight..    Foot in mouth
