Once more unto the breach my friends.  The title itself should give away what we are in store for.  In case the title is too cryptic…hint, operative word is "shadows"

This week the team is off to Scotland to investigate the Usher Hall Opera House in Edinburgh and the Inveraray Jail in Argyll and Bute. Scotland. I have horrible visions of Barry trying to do a Scottish burr with an Irish brogue and it isn't pretty!  The subtitles are going to need subtitles!

Same old same old it appears. More shadows and more "get outs" and more chills and more Laser Light Shows. But finally we have a temperature/EMF correlation which really calls all the other non-correlated situations into question. Or maybe that's the other way around.

I know ghosts don't perform on command, but they really need to get off this formula. It's been mentioned several times but all these episodes seem like the same thing and in the dark it's even hard to prove that they've actually gone to another location than the last place they were at.

Shadows, swearing, touching, etc. Hate to say it but GHI (and GH) are going down that Most Haunted path more and more.  And yet shows like "The Skeptical Viewers" don't make it to air.

At least we should be treated to a few minutes of the Scottish countryside in the intro. But, other than that…

mumbles…where did I put my Scotch for tonight?

Hey,that would be pretty funny.Barry trying to sound scottish. Never have heard of the Usher Opera House.

Think it would be great if they did the GreyFriars Cemetery and ran into Bloody MacKenzie's ghost at the Black Tomb.Maybe Edinburgh Castle, or Hermitage Castle, or Stirling Castle. Seems to me there is some association of Hermitage Castle with James Hepburn,Earl of Bothwell, Mary Queen of Scots third hubby.

Susan sees Shadows…lots of shadows….shadows everywhere for a prolonged period of time.

The shadows make Susan feel nauseous.

The camera stays on Susan reacting to the shadows, the back of her head reacting to shadows.

React Susan, react….

Does Susan suffer from a somatoform disorder…or a factitious one?

Is Pilgrim enabling?  Will group leader Barry stage an intervention?

What is wrong with this picture?

My favorite part of the first half?  When they are discussing a story of a dog cowering against a side of a wall.  They find some unshielded wires and boxes and such, get some EMF readings and my good friend Joe Chin declares that the dog either reacted to the EMF or something paranormal.  Yes…those are our two choices.  An unproven theory…low levels of EMF effect dogs (not aware of any study on that) and another unproven theory…pretty much anything related to the "paranormal."  No other possibility.  Just those two.  Genius…

My favorite part of the second half?  Barry shouting out to the ghosts "Come forward and you will be freed."  Um…ok.  Let's just throw out science for a moment.  Let's go ahead and really, really believe in ghosts.  Now lets pretend that not only are ghosts intelligent but they can also communicate.  Let us also throw on top of that that ghosts are somehow "trapped" in our existence or whatever.  Got all that?  Good.  Now here's the question…by saying "Come forward and you will be freed"…is Barry intentionally lying to the ghosts…or…does Barry believe that he possesses some supernatural ability that can liberate ghosts from this plane of existence?

Brilliant these shows are…simply brilliant…

Or the dog is simply fearful of being in a different place and displays that by hugging close to the wall.  Or smooth polished floor so it moves to the side next to a support (wall) much as humans will do…either for stability or because of the aforementioned fear response or both.

Haven't seen a lot of this season, however…

A) I am sick of Susan.

B) Why does it seem that now everyone starts their sentences with, "I swear to GOD…."? Have they been lying to us before about seeing shadows, people; hearing footsteps, sounds, etc., so now they have to take a vow with the almighty himself so we'll believe them?

C) Speaking of believing, Robb was dull as …… I don't know, something dull ….., Dustin apparently never figured out that whole visor  thing; still, I got a sense they believed in what they were doing.  Not sure I get that with these guys – seems to more about, "Hey, dig me." than actual ghost hunting.

D) I am sick of Susan.

E) Speaking of Susan, is getting-nauseous her ghost hunting method? I guess that would be the famous Singapore Sling theory…

F) …… I forgot.

I….I'm thinking.

B) Or end them with "I'm not kidding!"  Add in the "Are you Serious?" responses (see last week's episode discussion) and a serious credibility problem begins to mount.

F) Fortunately I remember what this one was…it was: "I'm sick of Susan" Laugh

Susan was whipping her head around so much seeing shadows that at one point I expected it to go flying off into the darkness.  To which Paul probably would have said "Did you see that?  I saw something shoot across the room.  I'm not kidding!"

Things were bad enough before Susan. Now?  I cannot watch her-my bullshit meter keeps explodingYell- so I have to record the show, and watch at a later time so that I can fast forward through her face time. It's just not worth all that effort!!

I like her, but I'm not a fan of how Kris is getting more and more screen time…AND stop being so static with the teams.  Let's make it Team UK and have Barry and Paul investigate for once.
