It's down to Central America for this episode which promises to be exciting and terror-filled. I mean, how can it NOT be. It's got Demons in the title! We will be treated to more footsteps, more "Did you hear that, too?", a camera whacking out on us, and more Joe Chin. I, for one, will be making an EXTRA bowl of popcorn for this one. Why? Well, it has nothing to do with the show, I just like popcorn and haven't had any for a while.

I see a lot of bats flying around this place (Coyotepe Fortress), and yet they don't mention them as a possible (probable) source for the noises that they hear. They have to know that they're there, right!?

Well. it looks like orbs are now evidence? How can they say it was following them? it could easily have been moving in two dimensional space or very shallow three dimensional…I did not see that it was conclusive that it traveled the length of the room.
Did anyone see a figure in the laser photo prior to it being outlined in orange? I sure didn't. Then they show it with the orange outline of a figure and they DARKEN the rest of the photo so of course the lighter part which they artificially turn into a figure is going to look like a figure.
When you look at the photo with no outline and no darkening, there is NO discernible figure. I'm about to call fraud here.

Didn't see the figure in the laser photo, but it did look "smudged" to me. Also, didn't hear any of the evp that they claim (I never do).

I noticed the bats, too. I didn't see a figure in the laser photo. I guess you see what you want to see.
Barry is killing me. He was sure there were demons haunting the place before the investigation even started. The other team members aren't much better. Do they take all the sightings and experiences described during the walkthrough at face value?

How do they KNOW the ball of light was not a fire fly? You can't make a statement like that and not back it up! It sure looked like a fire fly to me flickering on and off as it moved.

First time posting- so, I just saw this on the scifi channel, and I was severely disappointed. First off, was I the only one who noticed bugs and bats flying around all of the time? Couldn't that be causing some of the noises that they are hearing or the sights they are seeing? Also, all of their EVPs just kind of sounded like buzzzfttwhshpshsjs, and yet all of the investigators seem convinced that something evil lurks there. The Coyotepe Fortress was a dingy and creepy old place, I'll give it that, but I saw no evidence of anything that was actually evil, or even ghostly. So.

Exactly, it showed nothing to make it stand out from the countless other balls of light ("orbs") that GH and GHI have rightly dismissed over the years. We can't tell exactly where it traveled, it could just be going diagonally in front of the screen and they take that as following the investigators. It COULD have been several things, but they went immediately for the "ooooohhhhh" explanation.
The figure, I looked at it again in the light of "being fully awake during the day" and I do not see anything in the photo until they outline it in orange. Then all I see is an outline (an artifact created by them) It's not until they drastically darken the rest of the image, leaving the part inside the orange outline bright that you see a figure…a figure that they created. I think we have an example of evidence creation here. This was beyond just passing off something that already existed, this appears to have been manufactured.
Do they not know by this time that people are recording these and going back over the footage? Back in the old days when you had no access to something again and saw it only in the order the producer wished, they could get away with things like this. But with pause and rewind this type of thing doesn't work anymore.
If anyone can see a figure in the original image before they outline it or doink around with the brightness, please post it and show us what you see in the unadulterated image.

I would assume they would have noticed the bats. Yes, the bats could be the source for some of the noises. Also, since it's night you may hear tree frogs, birds, and various animals. Around were I'm at, if you go out in the countryside, you can hear whipperwills, night jars, owls or other birds.Have even seen a coyote or two at night, so one would assume being in a forest, there are wild animals around and they make noises. Some of the noises on their evps may actually be animal rather than human.

While I haven't seen the episode yet(don't get SYFY), you could be right. It might be a fire fly.Did they mention how big they thought the ball of light was?
It might have been ball lightning, or perhasp some sort of light like the Big Thicket Light of east Texas or the Searcy Light of Arkansas. There are several places in the US were these strange balls of light are. There are even bars of light as well.My great grandmother's family back in Bavaria encountered a bar of light once. These are not as common, but do exist. What they are composed of, etc. i really don't know, but they aren't really paranormal, but some sort of natural phenomenon.
If fact they can be seen in broad daylight. This actually happend in Maryland in the 1970s.
We lived on Fort George Meade Army Base from 1970 to 71. Late on afternoon, we heard a firetruck and a commotion outside our quaters, which we shared with neighbors on either side. We went out side and everyone was looking up at a ball of light that was high up on the pole in front of our building. It seemed to hover there for awhile then disappeared.Someone saw the thing and thought that there was a electrical fire I guess, so they called the base fire department. The firemen watched the thing too. After everyone watched. this thing for awhile, everyone went home. This was witnessed by many people of all ages and gender. My dad thought it might have been ball lighting possibly.
If they thought the light was following them, why not try to interact with it? They could have tried to surround the light and see if it disappeared, and then reappeared away from them.I believe the Army or national Guard tried this with the searcy light.Frank Edwards in one of his books has about this.
Why also not use the flash light as a communication tool as well.Aim it at the light and blink on and off,as though sending it a message.Wave it around abit.See if the light blinks on and off in response to the flash light,or if it follows the movement of the flashlight. Then you might have some sort of paranormal goings on.

The light was inside, so none of the outside natural phenomena you mention would likely apply. They also didn't try to interact with it because the light was only noticed in review, ie, like most "orbs" they didn't see it in real-time so using the flashlight as a communication tool was not something they could have done because of the circumstances.

I agree. I just watched the show again tonight. They could have put any form on that picture…a human form, a can of soup, a jackrabbit ( )…anything and made the same case. What kind of "evidence" is that? If we're going that far…I say the form is that of my dog while she was astro-projecting to hunt ghosts along with the GHI team on that night. Prove that it isn't. I mean if the evidence is that ambiguous…you just can't go and force it into something else…wait, or can you when you need ratings?
And speaking of slipshod and ambiguous evidence…that orb…wow. So…if I'm walking towards the east and a western wind blows a leaf behind me…it the wind moving the leaf or is the leaf following me? How one can ascertain that the leaf is following me or that the orb is following the GHI team is beyond me. I didn't take "Nonsensical Theory" in college. As for Robb rattling off what the orb couldn't be…I would love to hear why…

It seems the normal avi uploaders have given up on the show so I have to wait for flv's…
I saw a small smudge in the second laser image but couldn't discern what it was. Certainly no head or torso. The EVP's as per usual were nothing I could discern either.
The ball of light also looks like it could be a firefly to me.

In another thread, Stephen included a very interesting link. I began looking around and was intrigued by the review portion of this GHI episode on Youtube. This is the link (the video is just below another video of the premiere of GA this fall… ):
http://ghosttvblogs.com/
At 0:34 seconds in, you can see the "first" laser picture. At 0:36 seconds, they show the other "ghost image" laser picture. Why I choose this point is that it's really easy to stop it and manually go back and forth between the two. It gives everyone a chance here to do it that didn't record it (like me). Also, it's just the actual shot without the outlines or the shading.
A few things jumped out at me. One, I can finally see what they "saw" or thought that they saw. If one looks hard enough, one can sort of see a face (almost looks alien) and outline of a body within the doorway. But…let's not stop there. What else is different? The actual angle of the picture has slightly changed. To see this, compare the upper right hand corner of the doorway. The angle of the doorway seems to rise a bit and move just a fraction to the right. The only way to explain that is that the camera had been moved. To my knowledge, wasn't the camera on a secure tri-pod? And the room is supposed to be empty, correct? Well…no living human beings in it…
Speaking of angles, look at the bottom left hand portion of the doorway (where the alien/ghost/weirdness is supposedly standing). Why does it seem to warp towards the right?
Another thing…the laser lights look different, as in "muted" in a way. The first picture, the laser lights are sharp and bright. In the alien/ghost/weirdness shot…not so sharp and bright. Why? Has this image been altered somehow? Has it been run through some filtering processes? Has it been edited in any way?
And lastly, look at the angle of the laser lights themselves. In the first picture, the lights are uniform, almost in a "rainbow" type arch. In the second picture, the curvature of the laser lights is completely different. Even if I concede the argument that the laser lights might move a bit different because of….ghostly magic/ghostly interference (or whatever other unproven ability that ghosts, also unproven, have…), that would only explain the laser lights on or very near the alien/ghost/weirdness, NOT further down the wall (closer to the camera).
Something isn't right about all of this. Perhaps before GHI declares this to be a ghost…maybe some of these other issues need to be addressed first…

Rev's got 'em all. I've been analyzing the images in Gimp, trying to get them to overlay, and the curvature of the light beams is much higher in the second image (the "figure" image) than in the first. That's very odd, since the laser grid is supposed to be static. The grid is also undisturbed over the left side of the "figure", so the left side that they draw is just a product of their imagination. That leaves us with an asymmetric blob (which is essentially an orb) and some distorted grid points.
My guess– and it's pretty much just a guess– is that the picture was snapped when Paul was moving the camera, as we see him do at least once. (I'm assuming that this is the camera in the laser grid. They never say.) Either that, or the distortion we see is dust near the lens.
In other news, I'm getting incredibly tired of looking at grids of green dots.

You're right, the image angle has moved between frames, which may or may not explain the anomaly. Really, it's still too damn dark to see what the blank is going on!
They do seem to get very excited over nothing don't they.
I see Susan nearly gets possessed again. One day soon she will go all the way I'm sure. Then she and Zac can have the Devil's wedding while both possessed.

Yes, I'm really leaning towards that camera moving as welll. It would begin to explain the different aspects that we're seeing.
Stephen also said: "In other news, I'm getting incredibly tired of looking at grids of green dots."
You and me both, brother. Unless someone comes along and claims that the alien/ghost/weirdness is real AND can logically explain all the differences between the two pictures…I am fully prepared to cease staring at these particular green dots…

I am always impressed at how some people in the forums can dissect the screen shots. Bravo. I noticed the smudging of the laser grid, but lost all confidence that it was anything important when they helpfully outlined way more than the smudge. Thanks to those who figured out what was really going on. That's why I love this site.
