I agree Leslie.  Given the loss of shooting time and the cost of equipment because of not securing wires especially when investigating in the dark, I'm guessing that's why this scene got deleted.  It was funny to watch but I don't think anyone in production would consider it that funny if you held up a shoot because someone was careless in securing the scene.  That's not even taking into consideration someone injuring themselves.
