My first thought is…there was one to begin with? [A honeymoon, that is]
In this one, they go to the USS Carolina (sic) This is the description I've seen, but I'm assuming they mean USS North Carolina because there was only one US warship ever named for the colony of Carolina, and that one did not have deck guns mounted in turrets (it was only a schooner and was commissioned in 1813) The other candidate is a Daedalus-class starship belonging to the United Federation of Planets, and I doubt that is too likely a possibility. Therefore I'm going with ol' BB-55 in Wilmington.
Supposedly our students will be attempting "to obtain conclusive evidence of paranormal activity and verify numerous reports of doors slamming themselves, disembodied voices and unexplainable noises." In other words, just another typical list of reports…interestingly lacking the oft-reported full-body-apparition, but maybe that will be saved for when the students have more experience.
Get out your nerf TV remotes (in case you get the urge to chuck it at the TV), sit back and see who cries, freaks out, gets ripped for standing around, or admits that he didn't think the word gullible was in the dictionary.

Thanks Nosfer. I had to laugh when I saw the title of this episode. I actually thought it might be prophetic. The description of the episode here says " Steve and Dave test the students' skills at the U.S.S. Carolina." My first thought, after seeing the title was, now who is going to test Steve & Dave's skills? Oh right, that's us.

My personal honeymoon with the GH franchise has been over for a while, and I probably wouldn’t even watch this but one of my hobbies is modeling warships. So, if nothing else it gives me some nice detail views of the ship if I ever decide to build it.

Heathyr's mediumship (ha, get it "ship") skills come to play again, although she is apparently quite unfamiliar with naval ranks. The sailor was pretty far down, probably a PRIVATE? Okayyyy.
She needs to just suck it up and go on the tours because, once again, she pretty much heard everything that goes on when they were doing the cameras or going on the SECOND tour which she decided to join.
Good to see that they are continuing to hold the cadets to higher standards than we see them using in the GH episodes. (Pensacola…Britt and Dustin sitting one step apart on the lighthouse steps while talking)
The editing for drama (previews showing Steve raking them about protocol and then a cut to Chris saying he thinks someone's going to be leaving which was completely not as it appeared) have just got to go, but good drama makes for good TV for 98% of the saps out there who pander to the great entertainment box rather than hoping to actually learn something.

I still have a problem with Heather's plan to avoid the opening tour to avoid info. Though Steve and Tango did not talk about the camera set up this time, it seemed like she had the same contamination of information from her academy mates.
Watching this episode and hearing S & T's plan to have the cadets set up on their own, on their 2nd investigation – I wondered why they were having to do so on a battleship. As I recall, even GH talked about how complicated it was to set up on a ship – with experience.
Why haven't they been training these newbies on something a little simpler like a house?

BrendaLee,
I understand what you and the others are saying about Heathyr. Personally, I think she (or possibly even GHA) is using it as a "hook" to distinguish her from the rest. It seems to have worked because everyone is commenting about it good or bad and that makes the point that any publicity is publicity. In the long run, every show has their own personalities. Case in point, GH. There you have the bully, the innocent "trickster", the frightened one and the nice but gullible one (sorry Tango). So, in the end there's a flavor for all.

Really Nosfer! *shaking head* Do you think they want anyone on the cast or crew to be smarter than the 2 Kings? Maybe a Professor (or lawyer) will appear to get them off the island sooner rather than later.

Ugh, I know I'm just being nitpicky and my being a military wife comes into play, but please…HOW HARD IS IT TO KNOW RANK????? And if she is "picking up his vibrations" wouldn't she know? Oh, that just went right through me…
Okay, I'll stop ranting and raving and play nice now.
I really don't have much else to add about this show except that they need to change the name to The Real World: Paranormal Edition!

Not nitpicky (unless I'm guilty too LOL) If she was really getting something she should have gotten something, it sure had the feel of a guess. As for the research, wonder if she did that before or after she went to the ship, you know, alter the name just a little so people aren't suspicious?

I never thought about that, but that would be so easy to do…hmmm…methinks you're onto something, Nosfer! (As opposed to being ON something…LOL)

Steve throws them on their own – " you get zero help from us" ?
So that's the academy ? 2 nights and they know everything they need to know about Ghust Hunting ?
Didn't see them trained on the EMF meter, thermometer or even the KII.
The first episode during their review Steve asks if they went though all the video … DVR, Mini-DV, thermal … tonight it appears that they were never trained on or used the thermal.
Interesting that the Techmangler leaves it to Tango to explain the FLIR, I would have liked to have seen him bobble his way through it – that would be good for a laugh.

Hooo boy!!
While I do appreciate the value of "tagging" you can't possibly tag every single sound, particularly in the nidst of conversation, sos Techmangler Steve raking them over the coals for not tagging is BS. Besides, how do you tag every little shuffle, sound and echo?
C'mon, therer are obviousl evps and there are some you just have to guess at.
How much "tagging" is going on in GH when they have to rely on the production cams to verify who was where at what time, etc.
I'm tired of hearign about Heathyr being a medium Here's a thought, "No, you're not…"
Susan was a little better tonight and that bif dude Chris is pretty much the only one taking it seriously, but he's a got a lot of brown nose in him, too.
BTW, It's the Battleship, USS North Carolina, docked in Wilmington, NC. I was there around 1992.

Doc, perhaps they all should go back to school although I'm not sure who would be the trainer since no one knows how to use the equipment in the first place. If they are going to complain, perhaps they should look in the mirror first or at least read a manual or two or three before they lecture anyone.

I suspect that Tango knows everything about the gear, more then anyone else, but he's cast as the sidekick and he knows enough to stay there. When GH has run out of steam, he's the one I would bet on to do the best in his career.

Steve throws them on their own – " you get zero help from us" ?
Well, there is a tactic known as throwing people to the wolves to see just exactly what you have to work with. Good way of separating wheat from chaff, although I didn't see any resultant wheat when this was done.
Susan was a little better tonight and that bif dude Chris is pretty much the only one taking it seriously, but he's a got a lot of brown nose in him, too.
Chris is also seeing shadows worse than Brian and getting touched more than, well…
BTW, It's the Battleship, USS North Carolina, docked in Wilmington, NC. I was there around 1992.
Which is precisely what I said in the very first post?

Heathyr talks about doing research on the ships manifest
Since a name appearing on a manifest would definately show that the individual was a passenger rather then being any part of the crew, I don't she why she would be confused.
