I really like Steve and Tango…and I love watching Ghost Hunters/
But, a situation came up on tonights episode where Steve and Tango both said that one of the investigators (a male) was repeating everything that the female investigator was saying. They both called him out, reprimanded him and said that he needs to think for himself.
When that investigator went back and made a comment, agreeing with the female, they said "good boy"
or words to that effect. She picked up the walkie talkie not knowing what was going on and they said,
"He knows what we're talking about". My opinion they were rude.
They then met with another female and male investigative team and again reprimanded the male for not being the strong one, (not their words) but the perception.
I feel they both, BOTH, need guidance on their teaching skills.
Many a night has gone by where Tango has agreed and copy catted everything that Steve has said.
Just my opinion………..

Dumping the "cadets" on their own is fine, and as I said in the previous episode is a good way of separating the chaff. However, this is not the way to do it. Steve and Tango need to pick one person, say "You're in command tonight, set this up" The way it is done, no one knows who's supposed to be in charge and you can't have everyone in charge. As soon as you get three or more in a squad, SOMEONE has to be squad leader. That Steve and Tango do not recognize this does reflect poorly on _their_ leadership and training skills.
I was quite pleased to see Heathyr removed at the end, though Jane should have gone as well. Looks like this IS going to be Survivor, Ghost Hunter's style. Well, makes for good drama, poignant moments, and general all around gnashing of teeth on my end.

Well.. I'm not psychic but I knew Heathyr was gone before it even aired. Too many "strikes" from before, I guess. Jane ain't going anywhere for a while because.. well, quite frankly, she's some eye candy for the show and I think the producers want that. Besides that, despite her major faux pas (is the plural of pas just "pas"?) of not taking notes (though gee, I've never seen J, G, Steve or Tango take notes, as evidenced by the show that aired just before and after it); and just dropping the vid camera off and lying about her (lack of) technical expertise, and then going right into the waterworks at the end; everyone gets a warning or two first. It wouldn't quite make sense to boot her off on her very first ep. Hell.. I wasn't going to keep watching the show -but now maybe I will.

Well, that's 5 (6?) nights investigating in three of the most haunted places in the country and they have zero, nada video to show for it. In the five years of GH, about 200 nights of investigations, I think J&G have been skunked about that many times.
The new question might be … will GHA, as students of Techmangler Steve, ever get any video ?

Orion,
I have to disagree with you on this point. Although I have never seen Tango take notes, Steve has been taking notes since at least the Belcourt Castle episode which aired earlier this year. In fact, I have mentioned this on occasion and others have discussed it in a few previous posts. I think another episode was either the Cuban Club or thereabouts. Tango does not go on the "tour" so I'm not sure exactly why he would take notes. The same holds true for Kris, Amy, Joe, Britt or even any of the GHI investigators. I am surprised that J & G don't but I guessing it would not look good for the "camera". They have to appear "in charge" and would probably tell you they rely on Steve (shudder). Actually, they all get notes and an outline from production as to the "story" and what they are looking for, so Steve is most likely doing it for camera angles or that's what we are given to believe although production (to some degree) sets that up as well before they arrive.

Though she said it was unnecessary, Jane was taking notes later on in the 'tour'.

I have never noticed Steve taking any notes, but as you've probably watch the show more than I, I can't argue the point. I know Steve didn't get to do the walkthroughs in the first few seasons, until he argued that it was reasonable that the tech mgr do so (with which I happen to agree). I thought I'd seen Tango on a few walk throughs, but maybe not.
It is odd that J and G never take notes, it might look good for the camera that way, but OTOH, wouldn't they look more professional if they did? They probably have someone off camera in production doing that, like you say.
The main thing is, I guess, did Steven and Tango ever really teach the "cadets" to take notes? If they learn mostly from watching the show, they probably wouldn't think to. But if they were told to take notes enroute, (which we may or may not have seen.. I didn't see ep2) then yeah, they should've been doing that once they got to ESP. It's a real bad idea to try and trust everything to memory.

Just to confirm, yes, he has been taking notes the last several. However, Steve, alone, goes on the tour with J&G (not Britt, Kris, Amy, Tango, etc) and then everyone investigates. Question, then…why do ALL the Cadets go on the tour?
Steve's doing it probably because we've made so many comments about how he hears one thing, and then tells Tango another story and Kris a third story, maybe they thought it would look better if he were actually paying attention and taking notes.

I love the fact that Chris is following in Jason and Grants footsteps
with being touched and seeing shadows in previous episodes…didn't take long
and now he has started to hear things…With these "perceptive" abilities
I'm sure he will be leading the group in no time he just needs more work with the K11
meter and "adjustable" flashlights…Go get um Chris…

Am I the only one who thought it was disturbing that Steve and Tango purposely faked evidence to see if the cadets would think it was a paranormal incident or something else? I mean think about it, this really raises questions about their integrity and honesty because what this says to me is that this isn't the first time they've staged evidence. They actually seem pretty good at it. I believed for the longest time that it was only Jason and Grant faking evidence but now…
How do I feel about Heathyr being booted off the show? GOOD RIDDANCE! I mean you talk about an inept investigator! She's so bad that they decided to keep the girl who didn't realize that the lens cap was still on the camera! I think it would be funny when that girl gets booted off the show we won't have any video of it because the camera guy forgot to take the cap off the lens!

Nope, didn't bother me, they didn't fake evidence, anyway. Faked evidence would be if this had been collected and used later. This is supposedly training and was nothing different than a live-fire exercise.

Not sure where this fits, but it is curious -
On SyFy, Heathyr's bio has her as a " Domestic violence advocate " ….. really ?

Unfortunately, I missed this show but will probably catch it on You Tube, but as far as Heathyr; I'm surprised that she lasted after the first show. I'm not sure what she (or the casting director) were thinking from day one. Has she ever watched GH and did she have any familiarity with the way GH do things? Not going on the initial walkthrough's, relying on mediumship, doing her own thing, and not adapting her "style". In my mind, she was pre-arranged as the first "victim" from the initial casting, and she could not have been blind to it, but in on it. I wonder if she was compensated?

Oh my…that just sounds really bad!
"My name's Heathyr, and I'm here to speak on behalf of the suffering of men who batter their wives and girlfriends…"
Okay, not funny, but that's what it made me think of!
