As I've said, I'm don't watch GA much anymore because of their over the top presentation. But I've been recently assured that everything is legit and not faked so I'll post the announcement for this one. Besides, I've been to the Stanley thrice before so I might actually watch this one.

Ghost Hunters and Friends have been here three times too I think. So, from those investigations we can get a pretty good idea for what's to be found and the style of "haunting" No matter what we say about them, we can at least count on them to not withhold legitimate evidence so if we haven't seen it in the three episodes so far, it likely didn't happen to them.

Having said that, it will be interesting to see how many possessions and attempted murders we get to see tonight.

Edited: My schedule is showing this for tonight (08 Oct) however the Travel Channel is showing that it is Waverly tonight. Well, we can use this thread for next Friday, although I suspect the premise will be the same…wonder how many possessions and attempted murders we'll get to see at Waverly?

I taped GA tonight but I haven't got a chance to watch it yet. Who was the skeptic that they where supposed to use tonight to prove they are legit?

Like Ghaleon, I haven't seen the whole thing yet…but…did I see Zak standing by an aquarium and talking about "ghost fish?"  I suppose to be accurate…"ghost trout."

I…um….yeah…ghost trout…

Ghost trout?
Would that be an intelligent haunting, a time-stamp dimensional reduplicate or a class 3 repeater?
Is it confined to the aquarium in which it died or can it ?swim? about the room?

Inquiring minds don't give a crap, but I was just wonderin'

I'm inclined to believe it can 'swim' about the room. After all, according to Destination Truth, humans can haunt the underwater world, so why can't fish haunt the out-of-water world? As a matter of fact, I bet that all of those 'light touches' and "it brushed against my arm" claims that we've heard in many shows are actually caused by fish fins as they are swimming by.Wink

I never take GA at face value and I always get a few laughs out of them but wow… I mean WOW! Was this not the most ridiculous thing on tv or what?

Also I want to note that the recorders that they use is the same model of Olympus that I use. When you pick them up while they are on they  make a scratching and popping sound. On this episode we see Nick pick his up off of his pillow and it makes the noises that I always hear when I pick mine up but they make a voice out of it! They try and say that it said something when I know for a fact that is the noise they automatically make when you pick them up! What a joke !

Although my sisters and I stayed in room 401 on October 8th and did have several experiences, I agree that Zak's hair is very scarey. I did however, totally relate to the feeling of being watched and it was fun to see someone else feel uneasy. I really liked the new equipment that can pick up energy sources moving around the room even though you may not see and actual apparition. In all I did enjoy watching the events of the evening but perhaps next time they could spend a little time in the 4th floor hallway where the children are said to be playing.

Betty, did they use this, http://www.spudpickles.com/GhostRadar or this http://www.ghostradar.co.uk

I always use the former, however the latter is cuter.
I feel Aaron would love the pet ghost.

First off I'd like to say a big hello to all of you here on the SV forums. I've been lurking here for a while reading and enjoying all of your posts.

I must say I am a big fan of GA, mostly for it's entertainment factor rather than much of the evidence they present. I thought the Stanley hotel episode was actually quite good and really enjoyed the new sonar equipment that the science guy brought in. The "ghost trout" story was pretty stupid, I'm inclined to believe they added that segment for a laugh but sometimes with these guys I dont know if they are being serious or not lol. I'm pretty much with everyone else on their EVP's, to me they just sound like a lot of fuzz and not really anything like what they spell out on the screen. The ball of light they caught in the carriage house was quite strange but I think the highlight of this episode was Aaron in a wig Laughing

Welcome Monkey Ninja.

Course we must all remember that the use of scientific equipment does not a scientific investigation make.

I, for one, am quite tired of all these devices that they show us and give quick descriptions of such as "this will allow us to see a ghost" "this will light up when a ghost appears" "this will buzz when a ghost sneezes" and not tell us one bit of a reason for why said device will do said thing when said ghosts appears. I'm supposed take their word for it?

Amazing the difference in stories we get from the clients in this vs when GH was there. Trout? And now the Stanley has a "Resident Investigator"

Well, one good thing that came of it, we got to see the thermometer/EMF gauge again and confirm what it was. Thus confirming that the 66.6F ghost that we got in the other episode, interestingly, had NO EMF ASSOCIATED WITH IT. Imagine that! Course GHA already proved this when they did the SFT at the Stanley and the light came on and there was NO EMF ASSOCIATED WITH IT. Amazing how none of them picks up on these interesting little tidbits. To quote Rev "I call shennanigans" or, to quote Nosfer "I call BS"

Nos, let's not be too hasty.
Don't throw the entity out with the ectoplasm.

The ghost catching machine on GA's Halloween special was quite interesting.
Robby the Robot on crystal meth.

Gotta' go. PS is on and they're using a Frank's Box. Astounding.

edit: Keeps gettin' better. Ryan, Chip, Lorraine and Frank's Box all on one episode.

Of course quartz, limestone and running water have been proven to produce high levels of EMF and are a portal for spirits. Undecided I need to get that science book specially written for the paranormal community.

They should have let the girl psychic in on the investigation. She could have taunted the demons and got Zak possessed again.

I thought he DID get possessed again…or did I sort of run Stanley and Poveglia (on right after) together? You know…the big-nose episode…

BD: Not only did I not see any entity or EMF, I don't think I got any whiff of ectoplasm either lol OR: Interesting equipment does not a scientific investigation make :)

A lot of fans of GA have been going on all week about how the Stanley Hotel is going to be dedicated to skeptics and that they will have a skeptic on the show to prove they are legit. Then we find out their "skeptic" is their tech guy. wow…just…wow!

The "quartz and limestone" deposits that people keep claiming are under the Stanley Hotel are not.

We discovered this claim several years ago. Eventually we spent two days working with the U.S. Government conducting soil surveys to find out what the geology of the land really is, and we discovered that the claims are wrong and the building is on bedrock and schist…….. not quartz and limestone.

The report can be seen on our site at http://www.rockymountainparanormal.com

Of course this has not stopped every "ghost hunting" team and tv show from claiming that the deposits are there.

Maybe we should use this as a gauge as to how well the research of these teams should be taken?

Quartz, limestone, gravy, schist, whatever. That merely proves that schist is also a good conductor for paranormal activity. Tongue out

In the paranormal community, once an urban legend is born, it's like letting the genie out of the bottle. You can't get it back in again, even with proof to the contrary.

This is why they are still chasing orbs, using Frank's box, the SFT etc etc.

I'd just once like to see the full start-to-finish explanation of why water, gravy, quartz, limestone, etc would cause a place to have higher activity than if the substance wasn't there. Heck, half our state is underlain by the Madison, the ghosts should just be poppin' and fritzen' around here like crazy!

Edited: WITH time for a question and answer session after the explanation.

I to would love to know who started the myth about certain types of  rock causing there to be more paranormal activity. Of course you know my stance on the Franks box and other money schemes. When me and my wife do any investigating anymore, we usually run into some other people who do the same thing. Only difference is when I mention how absurd the Franks box and such are they usually get up in arms and want to fight me over it. Once an urban legend starts in the field of paranormal then its there to stay and people will kill over it, as crazy as that sounds.

There is people who live around me who want my head because of how funny I thought this episode of GA was! I mean come on, how can anyone watch this with a straight face?
