What I find ridiculous about these shows is that they don't use the same gimmicks each investigation. If they find a place haunted by Frank's box in one episode, and ghosts moving about with a motion detector in another, why wouldn't they continue to use it? The inconsistency in their equipment used is not logical, if such equipment can really detect ghosts. The only device they use consistently is the eee vee pee ghost voice recorder, without which they would have even less than the nothing it produces.
Oh what do I care, It's Ghost Adventures. They do what they want.
Well, we see this kind of thing with all the shows. They are keenly aware that they should "mix things up" to avoid becoming a "one trick pony." Too easy to argue against one single trick. But…throw in a bunch and people (not on this website…) tend to forget the other tricks. Or…at least not compare them.
For example, look at the typical detective/cop TV show. Not many ways to murder someone (shooting, stabbing, blunt object, strangling, poison and then into the exotic) and really only a handful of motives (money, revenge, jealousy, stupidity, and hatred are the most popular). Yet, mix them up enough and people tune in week after week.
Hmmm…you know, it would be really interesting to look at GH in this manner. To track the shows, simply break things down (touching, SFT, shadow, etc) and then compare the numbers throughout the years. It would be interesting if the numbers are comparable. As in the number of "something touched me's" in season 5 are equal to, greater than, or less than that of season 6. Is there a pattern? Hmmm…interesting to consider, no? I mean if Dan Brown can have his Da Vinci Code, why can't we have our J&G Code?
I don't think that we could do this with GA. They haven't been on the air that long and I don't think that they're as "structured" as GH is.
