"For their next investigation, Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin travel to Long Island Sound to have a look at Execution Rocks Lighthouse, a site rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of soldiers executed during the Revolutionary War."

Be forewarned that tonight's episode appears to be an hour and a half instead of the traditional hour. Half again as much excitement and awe!

http://www.lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=749

It is rumored that the ghosts of those chained to the reefs exacted their revenge on the British. Is that why Ghost Adventures is investigating this site? Or is this:

http://www.newsday.com/long-island/nassau/execution-rocks-lighthouse-to-get-a-1-2m-makeover-1.1274157

"It might not look like much now, but a nonprofit group hopes the Execution Rocks Lighthouse will draw a steady stream of visitors and overnight B&B guests when it's transformed into a tourist beacon with sweeping views…"

Edited: The rerun afterward is showing up here as a half hour episode so I'm suspecting some foul-up in programming and we may only be treated to an hour long episode afterall. Darn!

Didn’t they say the serial killer had bragged about committing sodomy over 1000 times?  I’m not sure that’s a ghost whose presence I’d want to feel.

Looks like they really didn’t capture much of anything on this investigation.  But it sure was a great location to investigate having such a bloody history.

Oddly enough, the creepiest aspect of the show had nothing to do with the paranormal.  It was when Zak learned that they were the first investigatory group at the location.  It was just the look in the eye and the smirk when he used the word "devirginizing."  Yeah…that's just creepy…

It appears to me that this was pretty much a "false legitimacy" show. I personally think they wanted to put a show out there where they didnt get any real good evidence intentionally because they have received criticism for getting SO MUCH evidence every week. I think GA fakes a lot of stuff, just my opinion. At the same time, i still like watching the show, it is pretty funny and at times it creeps me out because of the presentation i.e story telling approach.  They seem to really adjust their shows based on feedback, I have noticed this from the beginning

OK serial killer , executions on a tiny island so they take time to have a cook out and go fishing instead of " investigating " .

Yes, odd isn't it?  Even though many of the reports of seeing something or hearing something happens during the day, it really doesn't matter.  These paranormal TV shows are absolutely obsessed with only investigating at night.  I personally think that there are two reasons.  The first, and the most likely that they'll go with, is that the night vision aspect adds to the ambiance of watching the show.  As in, filming in the day-time just isn't as dramatic.  The actual reason…it's incredibly difficult to get away with "seeing something" in sunlight without filming it.  If it's dark…no worries, you can barely see anything anyway.  In daylight, the rules change.

Another thing…that serial killer.  I'm not quite understanding why his ghost would have been in the lighthouse.  Was there any evidence that he had actually been in the lighthouse?  Did he die in the lighthouse?  I do not believe that dumping bodies near the lighthouse is quite good enough.  It's kind of like when they were in that prison and calling out for Al Capone.  I believe, and I could be wrong here, that Al Capone only stayed at the prison for less than a year.  And he didn't die there.

So…following this sort of logic…if I died and became a ghost, in theory then, you guys would be able to contact me in any location that I had ever spent time in…OR…been remotely close to?  *shakes his head*  You know, we've discussed this sort of thing before.  The difference between science and ghost-hunting.  In science, you find facts and base conclusions upon those facts.  In ghost-hunting, you start with a conclusion, find a couple of facts that may support it, throw out the rest and then make up anything else that you need.  Perhaps the next time that I watch the show, I'll take a cue from Aaron and rub sun-screen in my eyes.  Squinting and in pain, maybe their theories will make more sense…

Actually (and I'm embarrassed to admit that I know this) the GA boys aren't the first investigative team to check out this lighthouse. If I'm not mistaken, Most Haunted in America did an episode there as well.

Two things stood out to me on this investigation. One, when Zak said at the beginning of the investigation "We're going to use our most scientific piece of equipment" then pulls out the camera with the goggles and the word database, so ghosts can communicate with them. Scientific, indeed! Second, the fact that neither Zak nor Aaron could properly pronounce the word "mercury". For some reason, I kept alternating between laughing my head off and being really disgusted with that. Which oddly enough is the general feeling I get while watching pretty much any episode of GA!
