What do Ghost Adventures, ER, Pearl Harbor, Outbreak, and End of Days all have in common? Okay, what do they have in common BESIDES the bad acting? Well, they all had at least parts of them filmed at the Linda Vista Hospital.

Continuing westward, the team heads to Los Angeles, CA. Not that these are necessarily filmed in order or anything.

"For their next investigation, Zak, Nick and Aaron travel to Los Angeles to search for evidence of ghosts in the Linda Vista Hospital, which first opened as a hospital for railroad workers in 1904 and was eventually closed in 1990."

I didn't recall anything from the previews to really distinguish this episode and there seemed to be the usual amount of confused shouting, provoking, "dude, whazzats", "dude, right there, I'm not _____________ ings". Following on the End of Days theme, perhaps Zak will become possessed again, this time by Satan himself.

Although known as the 'Great Deciever' and the 'Prince of Darkness', I'm sure even Satan does have his standards.

There appears to be some different dates associated with this place with 1938 showing up in places and 1904 in others. I'm trusting the 1904 date since it was also supposedly remodeled in 1924 (hard to do if the building hasn't been built yet) and the fact that the National Register of Historic Places gives it's period of significance as 1925-1949, 1950-1974…also hard to do if the wasn't built until 1938. 1938 may refer to a significant reconstruction date. It was originally the Santa Fe Coast Lines Hospital

Here is a list of movie/television locations.  Note that Linda Vista Hospital is listed but there is no information when you click on the site.

Here is a PDF of the filming requirements from the City although there is nothing unusual listed.

Pretty creepy place.  I kinda liked this episode, at least Zak didn’t get possessed this time.

I have to see Aaron at least once a week with his mouth hanging open and the whites all the way around his pupils.   Also Zak saying how brave he is.  LOL

A few things on this episode:

1)  For those of you that were privileged enough to see the pilot of "Hot Girls In Scary Places"…(and yes, I too am amazed that the show hasn't been picked up…), wasn't this the same location?

2)  There seemed to about 89 EVP's in this episode.  I "think" I heard maybe 2.  Was that just me?  Or am I just being too critical of "static?"

3)  The debunking of the "White Mist" by Zak and Mickey…was probably some of the worst debunking that I've seen in quite some time.

It was said that it couldn't be light (like a flashlight) because the camera-man's shadow would have been shown since, obviously, Aaron would be in front of the light source.  Well, that could be true if the light source was actually behind the camera-man.  Of course, the light source (aka guy with the flashlight) could have been kneeling in front and slightly to the left of the camera-man.  This position would explain the angle seen of the light on the wall.

The other point of contention is that if it was a flashlight, then we would have seen a shadow of the chair.  Well…if we take a close look, the light source doesn't seem to reach the chair.  And even if it did, the light source (if in the position that I described before) would have been at a 45 degree angle.  From the height and the position of the camera, we wouldn't have seen a shadow unless the camera moved closer to the chair.

And just to throw this out there…how could I recreate it?  Well, I don't think I would just use the flashlight.  The beam of the light would be too wide.  So, cut up a shoe-box and attach the cardboard around the flashlight in a cone.  This way, you cut down on ambient light.  Also, I'd use a flashlight where I could adjust the beam.  I don't want a huge beam of light.  I need a weak light, just enough to show up on camera.  You know…kind of like what we saw…

EDIT: One more…

4)  Why was the tunnel in between the two buildings a "secret" tunnel.  As we've seen in other paranormal shows…show me a hospital complex with multiple buildings built years ago and I'll show you a tunnel system underneath it.  I don't think that's much of a secret…

I just saw this episode last night. The "light" you dismiss was misty, not like a flashlight.

I'm surprised nobody picked up on Nick's experience seeing the ghost-woman. Why did Nick set up a static camera in that particular room? The other static cameras were set up in hallways. Nick and Aaron's cameras both supposedly froze up at the same time Nick saw the ghost…but there's footage of it, because Zak was filming, right next to Nick's static camera? What? What the heck was Zak doing there?
