Hopelessly Locked In A "Fear Cage"

Lead Investigator

First things first…Paul Anthony has a very nice summary of the location and background history which can be found about 2/3's of the way down of this thread:

http://www.skepticalviewer.com/forums/ghost-adventures/ready-for-the-new-lockdown/page-1/post-5589/#p5589

Now…the nice and shiny spankin' brand new premiere…

Words have not been invented or dreamt of that can possibly describe what transpired in this episode.  No, wait…I can think of four…"a work of art."  Now, before we quibble over the varying degrees of greatness…let me first present…

Exhibit A- The Possession of Zac:  Superman had his kryptonite.  Curt Cobain had Courtney Love.  Zac…has the spirit of Anna Corbin.  Yes, the mighty Zac had fallen prey to the astral powers of Anna.  Never since the invention of the camera has such a half-assed performance of a possession taken place on film.  It was so incredibly bad that it became awe-inspiring.  We just couldn't believe what we were watching.  It was literally painful to watch.  And the best part…it just kept going…kind of…in that half-assed way mentioned before.  Simply…wow!

Exhibit B- Ghostly Cooking:  As usual, many "unexplained" noises were heard.  My favorite?  A sound of "sizzling" was heard.  Which in turn, prompted Zac to theorize out loud…"Was that the sound of Anna cooking something?"  Yes.  Yes it was.  Anna can't possess someone on an empty stomach.

Exhibit C- Unfinished Business:  At the end of the show, Zac was speaking to a lady about returning to the school because he was angry about being possessed.  He stated that the reason that he wanted to come back could be said in two words; unfinished business.  I can see that.  Obviously over-joyed with his possession, with only 3 days of acting school under his belt…if he adds just a couple of more days of acting classes…what a sweet possession that would be…

It was everything that I expected and so much more.  Strap in tight, folks!  This season is shooting for "hawesomeness"…and they already hit a bulls-eye!

It was a fun episode. No going to sleep through this one! Hey these guys don't need spooky music to keep us awake, why do Ghost Hunters?

Zac looked like he was on drugs when he was posessed. The white mist "walking" I couldn't see at all. I must be blind. The EVPs were typical GA style. I'm thinking how the dickens they got so many words out of "woooooosh" is beyond me. The scratches were interesting.

What the heck was that EMF alarm box he had? Never seen anything like that before.

ASTONISHING.
At least, after seeing Zak's possession, we know what Zak will look and act like after he gets his much needed lobotomy.
One entertaining scene was when Nick said he was scared in a normal tone of voice.
Zak then proceeded to scream at Nick, " Don't tell them you're scared, Don't tell them you're scared".
If they didn't hear Nick, I'm sure they heard Zak.
Please no more mysterious scratches, they've become so passe'.
After watching this episode, I wanted to take the razor strap that Zak had and use it on him.
From now on I'm going to look at my frying pan with a more suspicious eye.
All in all, we got what we expected.

Before GA came on last night I watched a show that I had dvr'd the other night called 'Girly Ghosthunters', a show from Canada.
The show is a lot like GA, but with estrogen.
And a whole lot less screaming.

Learjet, like you, I didn't see a damn thing.

Let me add one other thing.
Did you happen to notice, in the cemetery, that the wooden headstones were in surprisingly good shape for being as old as they are?

I thought this was the best show ever.  I didn't want it to end.  I don't care if any of it was faked or not.  I was entertained and spooked during the entire show.

And having said that, maybe they are just pushing for donations for the restoration of the place.  That's okay.  It was a great show none the less.  GH might have a run for their money this season. Wink

The "don't tell them you're scared" part was excellent.  And really…I am unclear as to why.  If the premise is that you shouldn't let the "spirits" know that you are scared because they may harm you in some way…well…if they actually did harm you in this frightened state, wouldn't that constitute evidence?  You know, kind of like the reason as to why you're actually there in the first place?

And…if we stay with this premise, of ghosts harming those who are scared, then isn't shouting out loud several times that someone is afraid the equivalent of ringing a dinner bell and yelling "Come and get it!"?

As for the mist…yeah, I didn't see it either.

I noticed the wooden headstones being in excellent shape too.  Almost as if they were relatively new.  Maybe the wood is being protected by something…from the beyond…

I really enjoyed the show…great entertainment.  Though I wish they would have gone downstairs once more…I wanted to see if somebody got "attacked" again.  Wink    No doubt they will the next time they go there….and we know they will.  They're goofy, they're silly, their EVP's are a joke, but they at least they get excited, not like J&G being so nonchalant about anything anymore.  And didn't you just love Zak about those flowers after he was "possessed"!  And talking to "someone else" in the room…I was rolling on the floor.  Laughing

If Zak's getting possessed now, then I believe that GA has completed its very short journey to becoming Most Haunted, American Style. I really need to watch this, and just by happenstance I just came back from Beverages&More with a staggering amount of beer. Timing is everything. Check back when I'm done.

Update: Alas, I cannot find it online. At least I still have the beer.

Thank you Jesus I wasn't the only one that thought they were full of crap with the walking mist thing!!!! I also found the EVPs questionable i fnot laughable. Eh what the heck I'll go with laughable. As for the "possession" well no words can describe it. My reaction reminds me of an episode of South Park where a couple with butts for heads (yes they were literally buttheads!) come to Cartman's door. Cartman is faced with the enormity of the moment and is overwhelmed to the point that he can no longer laugh. That about sums up my reaction to the Possession of Zak Bagan. BTW my head still hurts because I still can't laugh Yell

Maybe we should write to the producers of South Park and see if they'll spoof these clowns stupidity. No never mind they'll consider it free publicity and think they finally made it if they they're spoofed!!

Oh well I can't wait to the episode at La Purisima Mission. I've been there and want to see if the monks and native Chumash tribe that resided there will possess Zak and make him jump into the large fountain on the premises putting us all out of our misery!!!! Laughing

If the truth is out there than why haven't I found it yet?

Ah you see evil spirits feed on fear, so if you're scared enough they will posses your body and have their wicked way with it, requiring you to have an exorcism paranormal state style, and no one would want that. Surprised

Don't know whether to laugh or cry.  The laughing actually helps.  Someone please help.  I heard about the next show.  I think I have elected to chew on tin foil while shaving my head with a cheese grater.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that didn't 'see' the walking mist. (and I really, really strained to look for it, too)  I thought maybe I needed a new pair of glasses.

This was wonderful.  Incredibly fake, and the 'glowing orb' looked suspiciously like a bug each time, but they didn't play music over the audio evidence and Zac's easier on the eyes than the guys on Ghost Hunters.

Though, I do like the idea of an EMF generator — working with the premise that ghosts give off EMF readings, having a ready source of it to provide them with an extra burst of energy to help them make an appearance seems like a sound approach.
