I was just a-browsin' the Youtubes, and came across this vid on one of my subscription channels. This is the first I've heard of this… Haven't read too much on it, but appears to be like Ghost Hunters Academy only with entire paranormal teams competing for, as you can gather from Zak saying it about 10 times in the posted video, bragging rights. Bragging rights to what, exactly? Apparently not being able to capture good, solid evidence, but being on TV and proving that you can be dramatic.
Premiers in June… I'll probably watch it regardless. These darn shows…

Yes, I found this very odd as well. At one point in his "rapid-fire barrage of hype" he somewhat links bragging rights to credibility for the paranormal field. I'm very unclear on what Zak is envisioning (beyond more coin in his pocket….).
Milli, you also brought up GHA. I never really viewed that show as a competition. It was more like a beauty pageant in a way where TAPS could figure out who would best fit their team. Did one's "skills" play into it? I don't know. I'm leaning more towards their personality and whether or not that they could take being on the road for most of the year. The "who do we want to hang out with" angle wouldn't really fly too well on TV, so…"it's based upon what they learn and how well they do in each episode." Yeah…right… 
Lastly…overall, ghost-hunting as a competition. Anyone else just cringing at what is about to be turned in as "evidence?" What is the ratio of misunderstood results to misrepresented results to out and out faked results going to be? *sighs*…this is going to be a mess…

I agree. And I totally agree with you on GHA… just like we've determined that you cant really be an "expert" on the paranormal, how can you "improve" on your ghost hunting "skills?"
Yeah, the whole premise is really unclear. Zak doesn't say much in the video at all. Half of the time he talks about the "nerve center." Sweet bro, you're gonna have rockin' set, but who cares? I just don't get it.
I can imagine it like those scavenger hunts we used to have in Girl Scouts, with a list of things to find:
- An indistinct EVP!
- Mass amount of censorship beeping as you exclaim you saw something… bro
- A possession!
- An EVP that threatens to kill you by name!
- Dark shadow in a completely pitch black room!
- Goosebumps and/or chills
NOW THIS IS A COMPETITION! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? FIRST TEAM TO FIND ALL THIS WINS! MOVE MOVE MOVE!

With these guys, it's pretty easy to improve. Pretty much anything would be an improvement. If they would read any number of the posts here they would be able to improve their techniques.

No no no you all misunderstand. It's about hair, it's about muscles, it's about the shirt. Them's the bragging rights the great one speaks of. This has nothing to do with ghosts. :-P
Well unfortunately that rules me out cos I have no hair. And my muscles are puny compared to the great one himself. I do however cast an incredibly mean shadow. So mean in fact that I could easily be mistaken as a shadow person. See for yourself.

Ah you're right. Even I look like Jason. It's a shadow conspiracy! 
Just listening to Zak, GAC hand out identical equipment to each team. I notice a MEL EMF meter mentioned in the kit, along with various cameras and DAR but no ghost box/Frank's box or PX. I wonder why that is? Are the other teams not worthy of making ghost voices out of radio stations?

This showed startled me when I saw a preview for it. All I had to say was, "wow." It will be interesting indeed to see how these supposed paranormal expert judges will rule on the contestants' technological usage. I would love to know who trained the judges in the usage of this equipment because it appears that even the so called experts don't know how to use the equipment properly. Milli I loved your list! It is SO TRUE of the general make up of GA. The only show I know in which the ghosties threaten the hunters,now it appears, in every episode. Zak claims that it's a show to get the average ghost hunter to have their 15 minutes of fame and show that you too can capture stuff like GA can. I doubt that the average ghost hunter will be quite so dramatic though. Learjet, you are missing the giant belt buckle and the ridiculous tattoos as well. Do I see a potential for a drinking game out of this show?

I'm taking a wild guess that sock puppets and balloon animals were instrumental in his education. To go more in depth in these complex matters, he would need some colored construction paper, macaroni, and some paste (edible kind preferred…of course). Give him some glitter and yarn and he'll tell you all about probability theory…
