I live in Europe, so, I watch this show online… (which is why I'm so late in seeing it.)
I've seen only 3 episodes of GA, so far, and I have to say that some of their methods are interesting, and they seem like they are slightly less crap-dipped than TAPS (but, again, I've only seen a few shows with which I make this comparative assumption.)
About the Moon River Brewery "investigation" :
– The so-called possession :
Generally, I don't believe in possessions. I'm not about to say that it's impossible, because I'm not omnipotent, but, personally, I'd bet a major organ against the likelihood that any form of spiritual/demonic possession took place that night, while GA was in the basement.
To me, the floating white spec (supposed spirit orb) looked more like a little bug that flew into the side of his head. Also, if a spirit were powerful enough to possess someone (just theorizing here,) I'd assume that it would be able to manifest itself as something a little more impressive than a tiny bug-and-lint-resembling orb. I think they were so eager to capture something menacing down there, after having been told the current urban legends/experiences, that they would have deemed even the most obvious of dustbunnies as Beelzebub, himself.
Although his behaviour was creepy, and the overall vibe of the scene was quite eerie (watching it alone, in the dark, at 2 AM, I'm sure contributed to that, LOL) his strange "out of it" behaviour could well have been low blood sugar… Since we don't know anything about his health history, we, as viewers, have no information about possible and rational health related causes for his dazed-and-confused actions in the basement . . . Of course, deceptive acting is always a possibility, and personally, I think it's the most likely cause of the supposed possession incident.
– The black shadow :
When I first saw the show, I had a good hard laugh when they, and the other investigative group, called that digital zoom a "ghost." Fellas, c'mon, that is ghost, and I'm Marie Antoinette's butler.
I think this sloppy "evidence" is insulting to viewers, and personally, I feel it discredits the show. As if the so-called possession wasn't silly enough, they had to throw in this cockamamie camera-zoom-is-really-an-evil-ghostie nonsense. Tsk tsk. Shame on them.
– Footsteps in the attic :
Although this could very well be clear and excellent evidence of a residual haunting, I just can't accept it as "gospel truth" since these guys have (quickly) lost credibility in my book.
If it is fake : It could have also been the sound of someone walking in the next room, as the attic was quite large, and the camera only showed a small portion of the place. The sound could also have been added into the footage — so easy, a child could do it.
– Eyewitness Accounts :
I've had personal experiences with malicious and menacing spirits, and I would very much like to take the word of these witnesses… But, in truth, I've never met them, so, I can't totally trust them, either. They have a lot to gain by making up stories (it's good for business, and hey, it gets them on TV!) so, I'm going to take the information with big fat grains of salt.
And like many others have said, in this thread, the greasy ooze was pretty damned thick in this episode!
– The Hell – Kitty :
Ghost beastie manifests in the secret hole in the wall! ROFL!
That was the finest and most entertaining bit of the whole episode!
