"Heart-pounding moments"?  They went a bit over the top on that description I'd say.  I'm thinking that will only take up a few seconds of the show.  I'd leave it as "best moments" and let the buyer beware.  There were so many ridiculous "entertaining" moments but something tells me they won't use that label.  Let's just say, the rest of the "post-mortem" should be a hoot.  Somehow that just sounds so wrong as I write it.

Wow, did you see the end of this?  They went back to the part where the EMF detector ‘flew’ from Robert Bess’ hand, and said in their opinion there was NOT any paranormal activity taking place.  Otherwise, they basically said Bess had faked the scene.  I was pretty surprised at that!

"No paranormal activity involved in it leaving his hand" Talk about a diplomatic weaseling…just say he flung it!

And I think they totally skipped the part where he was ‘thrown’ into that door.

It's not unprecedented, the only time GH acknowledges any evidence by other investigators is to debunk it ( other SyFy shows excepted obviously )

One has to suspect that if it were not live it would have been edited out, or if a member of their own team it would have been vigorously defended.

But a healthy dose of skepticism is welcome from any direction !

OMG there is just so much wrong with this show.

Yes, green is the demonic color, didn't you all know that?  It's well documented after all!  Innocent

As to Mr. Best, I believe his name was -what a poor fraud.  I could've faked it better.  Actually, I did.. as soon as I saw that happen, I fell out of my chair laughing, then demonstrated to my 8 year old son how it was done, using the TV remote.  Mine was a lot more convincing, at least my whole arm didn't move back a foot first to propel the thing!! All it requires is a subtle flick of the wrist.  Geeez, if it done right, it might actually be halfway convincing, a scary thought. Surely the loony-tune practiced this before trying to pull it off in front of a national television audience? But it appears perhaps not.

I also got sick and tired of the constant "Okay, everyone just calm down, don't panic!!" .. as if there was anything to get excited about.. *yawn*.   Puhlease, Zak. I'm also over all the "Ooo, something just touched me" or "did you hear/feel/see that?" stuff that we never hear/feel/see – that goes for all these shows.

Some of the EVP in the following ep (Pennhurst) were interesting though, though I didn't buy the thing with the desk nor the coat rack.

Overall, this has got to rank as about the silliest ghost hunting show out there, at least judging by this episode.  I've seriously got to stop watching them.  Rather than pique my interest in the field, they're all killing it. I'm genuinely concerned that after all these jokers get through messing around in these historic sites, the admins of these places will no longer allow access to anyone, including actual serious researchers.  Everyone loses. Ratings based motivation sucks.

Having an open mind is a two way street.

I thought Green is the official color of Ireland and things Irish, but what do I know?

It was funny the way they avoided coming flat out and calling ol' Robert Parabot a fake.  Well, at least they addressed this, in their own way.  But I have to agree that if it were one of them who pulled this faux pas the matter might have been handled much differently.

Glad I watched, though.  It was pure hilarious chaos with that stupid box going off, the flying meter and everybody running around like chickens without a head.  Tell the truth, you just don't get this much fun with GH!  Although I still say that stupid communication device that they used with Chris Fleming triggered the migraine I woke up with the next morning.  The noise it made was hurting my ears and my head.  I'm not kidding.Frown

The only time GA was so funny (and it was really pretty lame anyway) was when Zak got "possessed".  Don't remember the episode but it sure gave me a laugh.

Can anyone truly remember the last time that they were truly entertained by GH?

Honestly, I think they handled the Robert Bess situation in the most dignified way they could. They very easily could have trashed whatever miniscule amount of credibility this guy has, but they didn't do that. They simply stated that, upon review of the footage, they don't believe it was paranormal in nature. I have to say, taking that approach was a classy move on their parts and they earn a wee bit more respect from me because of that.

And I couldn't agree with you more, Oubliette. I find myself enjoying the GA guys program so much more because they seem genuinely enthusiastic (albeit a bit too much at times!) and really excited about what they are doing. With J&G, the thrill is definitely gone. They have become that most dreaded of all animals in the athletic world, the paycheck player.

I agree Oubliette and Angelayo1970.  This was pure entertainment.  I must say though for a guest appearance probably one of the funniest GA episodes was Ancient Ram Inn over in England.  That was one crazy episode and Old Humpy was priceless.  Laughing

Actually, this recap was a worthy amalgam of the events during the live broadcast.  Rather than torturing yourself by watching the live event, you could just tune in to this episode.  That said, I also liked their response to Bess' obvious throw. I think that Bess did not realize the camera was turned on him when he threw the EMF detector. Zak and Nick found a polite way to point out the guy was a faker. I was really wondering how they were going to call him out.  I think they found the best choice of words.

I've got to say, the boys are growing on me.  The follow up investigation was interesting, and definitely more entertaining than GH lately.

I can't believe I'm respecting them these days!

I'm not sure how to take their veiled accusation of Bess. I don't think now that they really could come out and say he faked it…they had to use the passive rather than the active form. I really saw it as a pot/kettle moment. Sure, Bess was a little less subtle, but I seriously doubt that ANY of their actions were the result of anything paranormal.

Be funny if Bess comes back and confesses and says, "Yah, we were all making stuff up" The only thing Bess was really guilty of was going a bit more overboard than the rest of them.

I think they were perfect gentlemen, protecting themselves from lawsuits but not skirting the issue.  The copy of the video that Dave Schrader showed almost immediately is here:  http://www.ghosttvblogs.com/videos.

It is called "The Throw."  They couldn't get it out fast enough and Zak couldn't get out of the lockdown quick enough to find Robert.

Somehow………just can't imagine Jason doing the same thing.
