Don't start celebrating the 4th too early.
Remember Zak and his brother Darryl and his other brother Darryl are suppose to catch the spookies doing the 'wild thing' tonight.

This is the same place where J&G proclaimed a piece of tape letting go to be proof of the paranormal? (My memory is hazy on this one.)

Everyone was kind of excited about this one and well they should have been.  With all the talk of "soiled doves and tainted angels (which makes me want to form a band and put out a CD just so I can use that as a title…)," I think it was the best show of the season.  It didn't provide any real sort of evidence of the paranormal, but is that why you really watch the show?

Overall, the show had a good pace, it really kept moving.  And…plenty of humor, both intentional and unintentional.  If anyone hadn't seen an episode of GA before, then this would have been a good one to start them out on.  Not sure if they'd watch it again, but at least they would have enjoyed themselves…

On to the random thoughts:

A) Quick, How's My Hair? - Zac was all aflutter being in an ex-house-of-ill-repute.  While talking with Nova, an employee, Zac claimed to get touched near his…naughty region.  I don't think I've heard the phrase "dirty business" so often in such a short time span.  It must be some sort of record.

B) Quick, How's My Hat? - If Paranormal State can go to Gettysburg and play dress-up, then GA can go to the O.K. Corral and play dress-up too.  Apparently, they fell in love with the "prop guns" and used them through out the show.  It was funny, yet pathetic…which made it funnier…

C) Into The Abyss. - Zac decided to quasi-repel himself down into an old silver mine shaft where someone had been killed and had reports of screaming.  He went on to talk about his 100 feet of rope.  In retrospect, it wasn't needed since he only went down about 15 feet or so.  The best part was when they used a flash light on him so you could see him.  He was only 15 feet away.  So yeah…they could have turned off the light.  I mean…he's 15 feet away.

D) The Murder Attempt- After Zac had fired off a few rounds with his cap gun…I mean prop gun, Aaron claimed that "something" had tugged on his flashlight which was attached to his hip.  Since this is where a gun would be…Zac pondered over the thought of the ghost trying to reach for it and trying to shoot him.  If only it were true Zac.  If a ghost picked up a gun and shot you, I would definitely accept that as proof of the paranormal…but only if it were a kill shot.

E) A Certain Glow- While claiming some absurd notion that a picture/ghost caused his camera to go out of focus for a second, he yelled out claiming he had just seen a blue-ish glowing face that the two others didn't see nor was it caught on film.  He did say that it "drew his eyes to it"…so, you know, I believe him. Undecided  Later on, Aaron fell to his knees after being frightened by a buffalo head on the wall.  His reaction was true and real.  Zac's…well…

F) Captain Obvious- Zac, while trying to communicate with the beyond, asked a question for the ages; "Why do you like girls and money?"  Even he caught on to what he had just asked.  Yes…that has certainly been a mystery for a very long time.  If I only I could up with more than 8000 answers…

G) "Dude, Not Cool."- They sent in Aaron alone for some shenanigans by the stage coach.  It was then that it occurred to me.  Their roles are really defining themselves in accordance to GH.  Zac, is finding the lion's share of the evidence and yells at everyone…so he's J&G.  Aaron, is now the comedy relief…so he's Stango.  And Nick, well…is kind of like Joe Chin, only mildly less annoying.

H) One Man's Manifestation Is Another Man's Reflection - They showed a piece of evidence to Dwight Hall, a paranormal investigator.  The camera was maybe 20 feet away from where a "light" appeared.  Zac claimed it was no reflection and that they couldn't "debunk" it.  Dwight declared that the light was actually away from the wall (thus not a reflection, but a "free-floating" light), saw an "upper torso" and declared it to be a partial manifestation and a "fantastic" piece of evidence.

Again, the camera was about 20 feet away.  How one can ascertain whether or not the light source is "free-floating" and not cast upon the back wall is beyond me.  I also did not see a torso.  It looked like someone had turned on a flashlight for a second, maybe to see where they were going and it reflected off of something.  I would be very uncomfortable calling this a "fantastic" piece of evidence.

I) The Tease- What everyone was waiting for.  In last week's teaser for this show, Zac was seen asking if they had caught an EVP of….ghosts having sex.  And the very end of the show, in maybe the last 2 minutes, they finally get to it.  Apparently, it is a female voice saying "someones here" and then in a man's voice, a sigh (as if he was disappointed that someone had interrupted them).  Um…yeah…was it as unsatisfying for everyone else as well?

Hey…and next week…Eastern State!  Bring your sheets and sneakers ( Surprised )…it's going to be a good one…

I truely believe Zak saw the glowing face of the prostitute! I'll tell you why…

There's Zak with his camera pointed at the photo of the lady. He is staring intently at the bright flip out LCD screen, burning an image into his retina. Then he looks into the blackness, and to his surprise he "sees" the same face he was shooting on video glowing in the dark!

I love doing image burn experiments with my eyes. This one was too easy to debunk.

Nice.  It seems very plausible.  So the question then becomes, did he know and still react to it?  One would think that he would be used to working in the dark with video equipment.  The "image burn" that Learjet describes should be somewhat commonplace to him.  Yet, he still reacts as if he had seen a real ghost.  Well, kind of.  I think it startled him.  Perhaps he knew and then figured out there was no where to go.  Either you confess that what you saw was actually nothing (not good for the show) or you just go with it and pretend that it was real (which isn't good for overall paranormal investigating but does keep inline with the slipshod type of evidence that they usually produce).

I do believe that he was at first startled.  However, I didn't buy the rest of his act.  This falls in line with Learjet's explanation.  And I believe that Zac figured it out too, but he just went with it…which is why the other two guys didn't say anything.  And why it looked like some "bad acting" to the viewing audience…because it was.

Very nice job, Learjet…

I personally think Zak is still in his possessed state from a few shows back.  Is that possbile?  Really, I would like to know if that is possible?  Wouldnt it be funny if the person responsible for unlocking the doors never showed up?  Now that would be a great show.  Of course, just a simple BOO and they would be knocking down the walls.

Eastern State Pen.  I bet that one has never been done before.  Wonder if there is any chance of catching two "ghosts" making out on this episode?  Yak that would be nasty.  I'll pass on that one.  Just keep it to yourself please.  Avoid all showers.

Actually, it was an electrical cord I believe that had been wrapped around the bell. They caught the thing on video when it came off. Brian and Steve tried to duplicate it, but had problems. This is also the episode when Jay and Grant, the Bobsey Twins claim they saw a lady in white with an old fashion bonnet or sunbonnet on her head back stage. Of course, this was never caught by their cameras or the production crew either.

Maybe it was so unexpected and startling, that they just didn't react fast enough to capture it.

They did get  an evp, which had old time music playing, which was interesting.

I'll have to get my sister to tape the Ghost Adventure Eastern State episode.

I wonder if they encounter "Sheetie". If they do, then I think it's not paranormal, but maybe staff playing a trick on them.I seem to recall seeing something on ESP on tv.Didn't MTV's fear do something there?

Anyhow, they were talking to the production crew about their experiences at ESp. One of the producers or other crew member, was in this one area, when he felt he was having trouble breathing.I don't recall all they said, but when they got the guy away from this particular area, he was fine. Some thought that maybe one of the ghosts might have tried to strangle him.Darn,I wish I could remember what program this was on.

But it didn't have any connection to GH.

Wonder if they're going to lock Aaron in the ESP shower and get poked in the butt like at ISP.
If they do, Aaron is going to have to ask for a "Don't ask, Don't tell" clause in his next contract renewal.

HollyDolly,

I believe you are incorrect on the electrical cord/bell video.  I believe that was GH in New England, not the Birdcage Theatre.

EDIT:  HollyDolly, my mistake.  It was the Birdcage Theatre.  My apologies.  I do remember the music and sunbonnet comments though.  Guess I should re-watch the episode!

Hey whats up with the math question you ask each time before I post?  Man, if I could add, I wouldn't be on here talking about all these spook shows.  It takes me at least 4 tries before I finally give up and grab the calculator.  Some of you are laughing.  But how many of you can add 4 + 10 without using a calculator?

Anyhow back to the topic.

These guys seem to be trailing the GH crew with investigating the same locations, like theres no other haunted locations around.  Any chance they get invited to J & G inn for an investigation?  And has there been any talk of a Halloween live show?  Boy that would just ruin our Halloween night having to stay in from trick or treating to watch these knuckleheads.

I mean there seems to be some kind of competition thingy here which only makes things so much more interesting to the viewers with all the surprising finds.  If I was one of the crew members, I would amp it up somewhat like finding a dinosaur or something.

That would be because you are a guest poster. If you register you can post without the annoying math quiz.

Yea I know.  I do need to register, just too darn lazy.  I kinda like the math questions, keeps me mind edicated.  I was actually a math whiz in HS.  Made it all the way the multiplications.

Love the site.  Keep  up all the crits.  They are entertaining.  And remember:

Keep it real in the field, alright.

Oh dude, just seen you were from Australia.  Nice.  Love that country.  Know Olivia Newton John by chance?  Probably not.  Would like to visit some day.  I hear the cops dont even carry guns there.  Is that true?  If so, I coming to live there.  Man, anything to get out of this crime infested area.  Of course, Thats all you need is another redneck in your country.  Anyhow, interested to see the crits on this weeks show.  Love it.  Peace.

Yeah I know Oli, we go bowling every Sunday Lol. Wink

Nope, the cops all carry guns here. It's the general public that don't have any. Too many complicated hoops to jump through to get one and keep one. Probably a good thing too considering what happens every weekend.

I enjoy this show for a multitude of reasons. Yes some of it is the hokeyness, but I also think they are somewhat trying to do a legit investigation.

The usage of the guns/whiskey/cigar was amusing as all get out, but I think that they are actually trying to get evidence of the paranormal. It's not their fault they're tools.

At least they have personality unlike the crew from GHI.

At the GA site on http://www.travelchannel.com they have a poll.
It lists choices of what you may think are the most the most interesting?, exciting?, things that may have happened on the show.

Unfortunately, 'none of the above' was not listed as an option.

I'm not 100% certain which GA episode I was watching, although I believe it was the Edinburough Vaults.  Throughout the show, Zac kept demanding (in his very best tough-guy voice), "Come on out Mr Boots… you're such a tough guy Mr. Boots, why don't you try to bullying me Mr. Boots?"   Every time he said "Mr. Boots" which sounded like "Mistur Booowtz" I was howling.  A friend of mine (who also watches GA for a chuckle) continuously brings up the "Mr. Boots" episode when we need a laugh.  And please, the only ectoplasm on that series is the gooey stuff in Zac's hair… SCARY.

Reerob- Yes, that was a funny one.  Everytime he said it, I thought of the "Puss In Boots" character from Shrek with Antonio Banderas doing the voice.  "I am here Zac…prepare to defend yourself" as he waves around his little ghostly sword.  Laughing
