I hear ya Revenant. Every time I see an EMF meter on one of these shows I prepare the hobby horse (soapbox) for a long ride.
So Wi-Fi is the new evil is it? With a statement like the following I would bet the parents are avid Ghost Hunters fans.
"Some parents in the Barrie, Ont., area say their children are showing a host of symptoms, ranging from headaches to dizziness and nausea…… They believe the Wi-Fi setup in their kids' elementary schools may be the problem…..
"These kids are getting sick at school but not at home," he said……..
"I'm not saying it's because of the Wi-Fi because we don't know yet, but I've pretty much eliminated every other possible source."
What a load of moo poo. Eliminated every other possible source indeed. They have no idea! As I suppose most of the population don't either.
The safety levels of Wi-Fi, and for that matter just about every other piece of radiating equipment is well established. In the USA the FCC and in my country the ACMA have already provided guidelines and legislation for anything that radiates RF over a few milliwatts. The spectrum is carefully planned, monitored and managed in each of our countries. Commercially available equipment has to be "type approved" and have a sticker on it stating such.
There is no need to reinvent the wheel here. Our governing bodies have gone to great lengths and research to establish safe levels in the workplace and in the home and restricted access to imports of dodgy equipment.
Of course that doesn't stop certain people making a 1kw Wi-Fi transmitter from bits of microwave oven parts in the basement (which some people do lol). But legally speaking you can't use non approved basement designed equipment in public, like schools or work place without adhering to the regulations. Doing so would result in litigation.
"Claims by Health Canada that Wi-Fi is safe provided exposures to radiation are below federal guidelines are "outdated and incorrect," based on the growing number of scientific publications reporting adverse health and biological effects, Havas wrote.
With "independent studies" I bet. There's always some lab out there with an agenda. It's wide spread consensus from the scientific community we need. That's the only type our legislation should be based upon, not a few badly done studies that no one else can duplicate. Michael Persinger anyone?
