The recent revelation that the TAPS investigations showcased on Ghost Hunters are almost assuredly nothing but fabrications has had me wondering about something. If we have to throw out all 'evidence' that we've seen from that team over the run of the show, then what else is out there as far as "legitimate evidence" is concerned?
Is there any credible group who has caught and published anything solid? I feel like I'm back to square-one looking for valid evidence of any paranormal activity. If anyone knows of a site that has trustworthy footage, pictures, audio then I'd love to take a look at it.

There is no solid evidence available as far as I know. Anomalies and strange phenomena yes, but no valid evidence of paranormal phenomenas ever caught.
That's why people keep "hunting"… :)
Personally, I don't believe we yet have a valid theory or methodology that allows us to catch any evidence, and the pseudo-science (EMF etc) of later ghost hunters is not helping, even if that is what is intended. In my opinion, we need to return to the drawing board…

When in doubt… figure it out!

So far, the St. Augustine Lighthouse seems about the best that we have so far, at least as per what GH has shown us.
The most impressive, though far from conclusive, proof that something is going on comes from Prof. Wiseman, almost a non-believer in things ghostly. But his excellent experiment in Edinburgh's famous vaults has even him scratching his head. He doesn't admit to paranormal activity, but his viewpoint is that something is going on with us, perhaps psychologically, under certain conditions.
You might like to read about it here. This is, as far as I know, the most scientifically bent experiment carried out so far. Now he was on the right track!

It was a few years back and I saw it in the news section of yahoo. If real– pretty darn creepy and amazing.

Yes, unfortunately the figure was all too human. I don't have the link to the explanation since the guy came forward years ago and told what happened.
He was an employee at the castle who was dressed in period costume. They were instructed not to leave their posts but for a reason I can't remember he went out a door covered by a security camera and was caught. It didn't have anything to do with trying to fake anything; maybe a potty break? I simply can't recall.
He kept his secret for quite a while for fear of being fired but due to the furor that this raised he finally came clean. And that was the end of the ghost in period costume.
Bummer.
P.S. I am trying to contact a fellow in the UK who runs a debunkers' site about this. Hopefully he can fill in the details. But it's been awhile since the confession so I don't know if he will recall it. If he does, I'll post his answer here.

Thanks for the responses. As I naturally find myself reevaluating every bit of evidence GH has ever offered, I'm also looking for some real evidence to hang on to. I haven't had the multitude of experiences that many have had, so I'm left considering and discussing other people's stories.
