Seems that if there is THAT much going on here, it would be a simple matter of showing up for a few days and collecting a boatload of evidence….

Very interesting article. Wonder why the geophysicist won't reveal his findings?
I do think you hit on a few key words there: "few days". Hey, if GHI doesn't want to go and check it out, I nominate Learjet. I seriously think he could do a great job with all his equipment and knowledge. I'll even put up the money for his hotel room but Learjet, you'll have to pay for the airfare.

Up to 60 small fires per day?! Holy smoke!
Yet the "CEZ power supplier has also tried to solve the problem but its inspectors have not found anything abnormal in the house."
Or they don't want to admit it's their fault due to liability issues… So a ghost did it. Yeah right.
They don't need a PI team, they need decent electricians.

Well, if you assume the events are normally distributed, I figure a person would have to spend no more than a half hour there to witness something!

Can't even recall the name of the village,or I would giive you a link.

What do they do, take shifts so that someone is awake 24 hours a day? A normal 8 hour sleep period would see 20 fires!

Maybe they had to establish a "Fire Watch"! :)

There is a very small town in southern Indiana called Odon which has the notorious claim to (Hoosier) fame by being the home of the Odon fires. A farmer and his family were driven from their home by a poltergeist who started up to 30 fires in a single day. This all happened back in the '30's, but is still a talked about event in that community, mainly because the family involved were very honest, upstanding "pillars of the community" type-people who wouldn't invent a drama like this for any reason. Now, do I believe a poltergeist started these fires? Doubtful. But what did is still unknown.

Sounds the whole family needs to evacuate and let someone else spend the night on fire watch, and see if the fires still start. Maybe someone is an arsonist in the family…

I still say, take the family out of the equation and see if the results differ…arsonist or not, that should be the first step to investigating this place.
Raises the question: what if the fires start up at the family's new location?

Then there is always the possibility that there is an entity attached to one of the family members lol I think some 24-hour surveillance is in order. Just odd with THAT frequency of events that people are still (supposedly) scratching their heads.
Have to say the family has a pretty good track record if they've caught and extinguished every one of them without the place becoming unlivable. They need to sign on to the local fire brigade!

I wonder just what kinds of fires these were…smoldering? Open flames? Tiny? In garbage cans? Fire is known to spread very quickly in a home with furnishings. (Thinking of all those cautionary videos on the news) How did "so many" burn without destroying the house?
