Lost was one of the best written cliff hanging shows ever. It raised my expectations of all shows to such a level that I have a hard time watching any other "fiction" on TV now (well except for GH). None of them really hold a candle to it.

As for smoke monsters, maybe that's what all the black masses are that Britt is seeing. If so he should be running in the opposite direction like Brian, not toward them lol.

The author is a self-described "monster-hunter."  Cool.  So am I…I just keep forgetting to put that on my business card.  Anyway, the article ends with this:

"Within the realm of high strangeness, all kinds of phenomena have been connected with columns or shrouds of smoke. UFOs, ghosts, phantom hounds and manimals have all been reported as transforming into smoke, or emerging from it. Are these disparate phenomena possibly connected? Might they all originate from the same dark, unknown cavern which spawned Lost’s unholy smoke?"

Ok…so in a word…"NO."  Why?  Because the "same" dark, unknown cavern which spawned Lost's unholy smoke was something that we call fiction.  It was made up.  It was make-believe.  It doesn't actually exist.  So…the answer is no.

Monster-hunters *cough, cryptozoologists, cough* are such flamboyant writers.  As if their entire "science" was dependent upon their writing ability…you know…as opposed to such frivolous things like evidence…
