I wanted to get a feel for what one moment from any of the TV shows had you really think, wow, that is impressive evidence and really made you think…I know it is difficult since none of these shows have earned our trust but I know for myself there were a couple moments that gave me the chills. I can't say much about any EVPs since those are so easily fakeable. I don't have one particular event in my head right now but I will post it when I come up with it.

Actually I will say the St. Augustine Lighthouse for GH…I didn't read the review on here of the episode so I don't know of its legitimacy as far as everyone on here goes but it gave me the chills.

Interesting takes on the situation…I will have to try and watch it a couple more times before I can give a real assessment, from my memory I still don't see a full explination as to what happened, which is a lot better than normal.

There were two GH episodes that stood out for me: one, the St. Augustine Lighthouse; the other "the Duchess EVP" in a UK or Irish estate.

It wasn't that I couldn't imagine them being faked; as much as it was, as noted by others in the cited thread, that the teams seem to show real excitement regarding them.

Moreover, as striking as they were, it would take a rare degree of restraint not to have repeated some elements of them periodically.  Instead the show has degenerated into a repetitive string of "what as that?" and muffled, incomprehensible EVPS.

Or perhaps someone in production has just tightened the reins on manufacturing evidence…SyFy does have a significant investment in this type of "reality".

Yeah it has gotten that way for sure. I think before every single commercial break its either, "what was that?", "something just touched me", or "did you hear that"…I know it can't be easy to continue to try and make these shows entertaining after so many years but the repetitiveness is getting to be hard to deal with. It's sad that after all these years, so few moments REALLY stand out.

I believe that was Princess Caroline at Mount Washington (Ghostly Voices?)  That was interesting in the absolutely different type of "EVP" that they caught.  It was almost like the wireless was picking up some broadcast or something, though there was some interesting timings.  The most lengthy "EVP" I've ever heard I think, including GA lol.  Ghostly Conversations (not Voices), that was the title.

I believe it was similar (though not nearly as lengthy) to what they caught during the Final Exam at the Stanley for GHA, but Jason dismissed it there as contamination for some reason.

I haven't watched St Augustine since some of the posts in that thread so will have to watch it in that new light and see what can be seen.

Yes, SOME are available, but darned few:

SciFi Rewind has some as well, but not very many and, like hulu all appear to be from this previous season (and not in it's entirety);

Your best bet would be youtube at the moment.  You'll have to do some searching but I think all the parts are there for St Augustine:

It's really hard to say. These days I watch these shows, especially Destination Truth, for the historical value of the places they go to. I'm a history nerd, what can I say? There really aren't moments that stick out in my mind, at least, none that haven't been evaluated and discredited.

I was lucky to have found this site, because it really offers so many alternative ways of looking at the 'evidence' provided in these shows. A lot of people really don't question it. For example, an ex-boyfriend of mine and his dad watched these shows, knew I was into this sort of stuff, so they would have ghost hunts in the abandoned farmhouse near their country home. Granted, this place was creepy as hell. I feared that I would fall through the floorboards right into the bowels of hell. But they would go in there, snap pictures, and show me the "orbs" they had caught. Well, obviously I could look at those pictures and immediately say, "you're standing in a house that's been abandoned for decades… its dust" but they would credit Ghost Hunters and all them shows for showing them how to catch an orb.

The evidence in this show isn't questioned by most, and since the evidence is questionable, it doesnt make a very strong case for the paranormal field. Sure, there have been lots of things in this show that make me think "wow!" but its few and far between.

Two cases I wonder about the most are St. Augustine and the Princess EVP, as mentioned above. Like you guys, I was amazed when I first saw these episodes. As the seasons have carried on, I find less reason to trust them. Fame will do that to ya, I suppose.

and I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!
