I was watching an episode of Animal Planet’s  Weird, True & Freaky listing the top abnormal Giant Animals, and one of the animals on their list was a python in Indonesia reported to be 49 feet long and weighing 983 pounds.  I was shocked that I’ve never heard of this before, being proving a 50 foot snake is one of the holy grails in the crypto world.

The snake certainly looked big on the program, but still did not seem as thick as a 50 foot snake should be.  So I did some research and Snopes has the truth, that the snake was actually only measured in at 21 feet, not 49.

Someone at Animal Planet didn’t do their research!  It just goes to show, never take anything at face value.
