Looks as though her career in the paranormal just started in 2007. Hmm…think I do a little more digging. Thanks for asking the question Revenant.
I normally don't check out Myspace or Facebook or Twitter or whatever. Just not into it. But I did click on the link to Amy's page (thanks for the link, Hannah) just to check it out.
First…wow! I thought she was about 22 yrs old. I was going to post "Well, I don't think she's really old enough to have much of a job history." Guess I was wrong there. Had no idea she was 32. She doesn't look it, which is a compliment. She doesn't act like it either, which is a bit insulting. Let me rephrase it by saying "She acts more youthful than her age would indicate." Maybe that's better?
Some people here seem to be down on her. Not sure why really. She does mention "West Coast" every chance she gets, I guess that can be annoying. But I'm not "for or against" her. After glancing over her Myspace page however, I am awarding her 50 points for listing Tom Waits as one of her heroes.
Blinddog- After learning what "flutternutter" is (thanks Alicat), I'm uncertain why a woman bringing me a sandwich would be a bad thing. If I wanted to her to leave, all I would have to do is to say that I just saw a shadow and start "provoking" it. She doesn't seem to like that and would most likely leave. Then I could share my flutternutter with the shadow in peace…

Correction: Her paid career in the paranormal started in 2007. According to interview with her in 2008, she grew up in a haunted house and was a senior investigator for American Paranormal Investigations. The picture in the interview to me is more indicative of her true age. But I am like you, I thought she was younger.

"Since I magically appeared on Ghost Hunters a few episodes ago, I've been receiving a lot of questions from people wondering who the heck I am and where I came from. Unfortunately, it's not often that I'm near a real computer, so it's hard for me to answer my myspace messages with any sort of regularity…but I do read them all, promise.
"I am from Northern California and was an investigator with a TAPS Family group in that area for awhile. Through my involvement with them, I met Grant. Shortly thereafter, I was brought on as Program Director for TAPS Family Radio, a podcast the TAPS Family puts on weekly. After just a couple months of that, Jason and Grant asked me to become involved in their radio show, Beyond Reality Radio. BRR took a lot of work, so we were constantly in contact with each other and we all became close friends, (that's how I met Kris Williams and Grant's wife, Reanna – two of my best girlfriends in the whole wide world!) Considering the Beyond Reality Radio show centered a lot on paranormal topics, it didn't take long for Jason and Grant to realize I had a lot of the same views on the paranormal as they do and that it is something I'm very passionate about. When they started kicking around the idea of having a 6th core member, it was important to them that it be someone they knew they would all mesh with and who had the ability to be on the road for long periods of time. I guess I fit that bill and they asked me. :)"
She has not been on enough for me to say whether she is an asset or not to the "team".

Blinddog,
It must be a right wing conspiracy. I found the story on Fox News dated today and tried to cut and paste the link in this email but it shows it to be a broken link. You are right, the best way is to go to foxnews.com and put in Montauk Monster. Sad story. If this is indeed true, I'd just like to have 5 minutes with this person and his friend. Just 5 minutes please!

So…they gave the raccoon a Viking funeral…on a flaming inflatable duck…so he could take his rightful place in Valhalla amongst the other fallen warriors? I'm not entirely certain if that's what Odin had in mind…
And…aren't there some kind of laws broken with this? I'm unfamiliar with Montauk law, yet I would have to believe that setting dead wild animals ablaze upon blow-up water fowl somehow infringes on a few on them. I'd like to see them explain why they're in jail to their cell-mates…I've got a feeling they'd become very popular…

It looks like a pig's carcass to me.
The body shape, tappered feet, smooth skin, and skull all look quite pig like. (Google pig skull, and you'll see the snout is identical.)
The real mystery is : what the hell is a pig doing in the sea? I suppose we'll never know.
