I saw the pictures and instantly thought of a coyote or a coy-dog (mix of a coyote and dog…unfortunately becoming a bit more common).  It seems both young and sick.  I'll give credit to the vet for pointing out that it was filmed during the daytime…another sign that the normally nocturnal animal is sick.

In years past, this might have been a great big deal.  Glad to see that people are keeping their heads and better yet…actually using them to solve something mysterious.  There's hope for us yet…

And yes…pretty funny that her name was Shirley McLain…
