I think Redfern may have just watched Forbidden Planet:

if you build it, they will come.

if you imagine it, mysterious beasts will appear from your subconscious.

Hmmm…

Due to the all the craziness circling around "Finding Bigfoot," I've been looking at Cryptomundo a bit closer.  I did find this gem entitled "Zooforms and Outer Edge Creatures" :

http://www.cryptomundo.com/cry…..outeredge/

"Therefore, just to answer continuing questions about my first two books, The Unidentified and Creatures of the Outer Edge, with Jerome Clark, yes, they have been republished. And yes, they reflect our youthful theories, long ago revised or thrown overboard. But the reports, sightings, and some connections still ring true, decades later. Some have even written that “Clark and Coleman” set off the psychosocial ufological theorizing in Europe and the surviving zooform movement in the UK today, with our books and writings on such things as the tulpas, way back in the 1970s."

This was written and posted by Loren Coleman on May 30, 2011.  Five days later…Mr Redfern's article on tulpas appears.  Coincidence?  I'm sure it is.  Positive it is.  Hmmm…anyway…

Let us take a quick look at what Mr Redfern is offering us:

"So, back to the first paragraph of this article: How do we secure proof that crypto-creatures do exist? The stark reality of the situation is that proof may be impossible to obtain – because there may be nothing tangible to find. That doesn’t mean people aren’t seeing anything. They most assuredly are. But, I will leave you with this question: How do we secure evidence for the existence of something that may, essentially, be an externalized, ethereal life-form created by one of the strangest mysteries of all time, the human brain?"

First off, is a "crypto-creature" a cryptid?  Is there a difference?

Externalized…ethereal…life-forms…created by the human brain.  I honestly do not know how to respond to that.  How do we secure evidence of this?  *shrugs*  Ask Harry Potter to do it?  Look for clues in the Labyrinth ?  Hmmm…wasn't there an X-Files show on this?  A tulpa created to enforce rules in a gated community or something like that (hey…I didn't write the script :P ).

Zooforms died a tragic death here in the states.  I wonder why they still hang on in Europe?

Speaking of the Cryptomundo connection…lo and behold, Mr Redfern's story appears there:

http://www.cryptomundo.com/big…..ort/proof/

The article is the same as what Nosfer posted.  It's the Comments section that kicks things in motion.  From there…Loren Coleman responds with this:

http://www.cryptomundo.com/cry…../cryptids/

Not giving up on his Tulpa theory, Mr Redfern is allowed to respond (which he had been doing in the Comment sections of the two previous links):

http://www.cryptomundo.com/big…..t/proof-2/

To sum things up…Mr Redfern keeps re-wording this (a direct quote):

"The biggest mystery to me (and which prompts me to address the Tulpa theory) is why it’s always specifically the large Cryptids that elude us (and that’s the point of my post) and not other large animals."

Because one cannot find say Bigfoot or Nessie…a tulpa (a typical tulpa story) then becomes a possibility.  It's odd that the possibility that they simply do not exist is not really mentioned or given more weight then the tulpa theory.  One can find large animals like bears in the woods because bears exist and scientists can prove their existence.  Bigfoot…not so much.  But…I'd like to hold on to a slim chance.  Tulpas…um…

Anyway…I give him points for politely arguing for his theory.  Then…I take points away for using a variable to explain another variable (Bigfoot must be a tulpa).  I take more points away just on the basis for arguing for the tulpa theory….

Tulpas…Confused

Some good comments by Loren, they touch on a few things we've discussed here in the past.
