Thanks for the link Revenant. Interesting article. Something that deserves a follow up after he presents his thesis in July. As Mary said, it sounds quite plausible.
I definitely hope that there's a follow up as well. In a way, it kind of harks back to Nosfer's thread on UFO's from the 19th century and how I brought up the point that people of that time were aware of such things. This guy is explaining how werewolves of that same time period kind of "morphed" into what people believe to be Bigfoot today.
It should be very interesting to see if there is any response by cryptozoologists. To attribute Darwin with, essentially, the creation of Bigfoot should be a very big deal to them. I would imagine that they would come out against it, although…I'm not sure.
I know very little of Werewolves beyond just fiction and movies. I've read a few very old sightings or "reports" from past centuries. Yet, I'm unaware of what people of various time periods actually believed about them. I did bookmark a link a while ago with an update on the "werewolf mutation." Always knew it would come in handy one day:

So we know where the legends came from. I mean, they were based on actual people afflicted with a genetic mutation. But how the full moon, silver bullets and all the rest of it came into play, I have no idea. Hopefully, Mr. Regal publishes his findings.
