The show has many, many flaws. It is popular because it is different, there are ghost hunting shows, and myth buster shows, but this show combines the two, but in a horrific train wreck. And why do we need to rule out the ridiculous. Lets say I have a video of a UFO, ok, lets let a pigeon go in the air just to make sure we rule out its not a pigeon. Whats the point of that???
1. The horrible situation room acting. Like they are always blown away from the video that is far and away fake. My favorite is of the horrible CGI alien walking in the background of a news cast
2. The conclusions…if our 3 experiments didn't work, it must be real…or…if we recreated it, its fake and it happened like this.
3. The amount of time that could have been saved by picking up the phone or googling. I believe there were several episodes were the expirements were already done (ghost bus up a hill), or the flare episode. I don't know how your one step ahead when your 10 steps back.
4. A spider, enough said
5. The way they conduct and come up with experiments. The perfect example is in this episode. The video clearly shows something large in the cave which then goes into the air out of view. So, lets try to let an owl fly up, which isn't even remotely close to the video. Ok next, lets get Austin to do some gymnastics, which again are far and beyond what the video shows, not even close. Then they finally try something decent with the 3rd experiment. Why must we be put through 2 horrible expirements that are never even remotely close. Mythbusters doesn't do 2 really dumb things first, they try to scale it down, and see if its even close to being possible.
Imagine if in the car lift episode with 8 fire truck hoses, they instead put someone in a car costume and shot them down a water slide. It makes no sense.
