Santa Ana, California, and Joplin, Missouri. That's where we go for this series of videos. Joplin for flying rods and Santa Ana for another UFO.
Bill, Jael, and the stunt expert, Austin, go to Joplin to try to recreate video of some flying rods. Because, if they can recreate it, that means it is fake…although that doesn't mean there might not really be genuine flying rods that Bill will have to investigate.
Personally, I feel that this could be an interesting episode. I think the potential of locking these three in a tent with 83,279 swarming bugs in an attempt to recreate some flying rods could be fun. THREE – TWO – ahhhfhfhhhhhh eeeeeeeep Get it off me!!!! Get it off meeee!!!! (Sorry Bill)
I can't say for sure but this may be what they are trying to recreate:
If you look at the branches, they are not moving fluidly which means we have a slower than normal frame-rate. What that means is something I will leave as an exercise for the SV class (Please put your hand down, Learjet, I'm not calling on you )…
Rods are a big part of some paranormal circles. Called "sky fish" sometimes, they are in most cases nothing more than insects moving fast by the lens, thus exhibiting a stretched look which can resemble a rod. Given that our FoFers will attempt to recreate the phenomenon using bugs gives me some hope in them. The likelihood of them messing it up and declaring the sky fish as our new overlords dashes most of those hopes.
For the other segment, Ben, Devin, and Lanisha go to Santa Ana to try to recreate video of a flying saucer. Now where have I seen this before?

Kudos to Bill for reading the cue card about slow frame-rates. If only he had looked at the leaves in the original film while in the "Situation Room" Then we could have watched them try to recreate a gnome.
They just were very fortunate that they didn't come across one of those three-foot long skyfish that the original videographer had reported seeing…

The team didn't mention it, but the production crew caught several "rods" just by filming the FoF team. This one above Bill's hand when they were interviewing Beverly the bat lady. http://img577.imageshack.us/im…../rod1j.jpg

There was another shot of a swarm of insects flying overhead that was rather telling, as well. There were scores of "rods" had they only looked up. The one you screen-capped is a closer match than the ones in the swarm, though, nice catch. This reminds me of some other episode of theirs where they seemed to ignore/miss something very early on (without even having to experiment) and later ended up finally filming it after one of them came to an epiphany.

Oh dear. The "videographer" is very questionable. Thank goodness, the Fof team realise that a bug bomb doesn't devastate the insect population as much as a nuclear bomb.
Well, this was the first episode I've never seen of Fact or Faked (thanks, boredom). So… is this like the TMZ of paranormal shows or what?
TMZ? The Most Zany? In which case, yes it is the TMZ of the paranormal lol

That's an insult to TMZ. They actually uncover news every once in a while…..
Haha, perhaps I should've been more clear. I mean, lets throw a bunch of decently good-looking young people into a room who say 'dude, ive got a story that you wont BELIEVE!' with the crazy camera moving back and forth and capturing the various chuckles and 'wtf' faces on the others. Alright, so I admit I don't like TMZ either, but at least its more entertaining. Fact or Faked uses the same type of style for a show that is a lot less entertaining.
and I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!
