Come on Down! You're the next viewer of FoF! Rod, tell these good folks at SV what they can win!
The 19th of October starts the new half season of Fact or Faked and we have traded out the clapping seal for a Price is Right model. (I guess that means we win AND lose…in that order)
Lanisha Cole joins the team as the photography expert/skeptic. Those credentials are probably the first things that need to have a determination made as to whether or not they are fact or faked. Her cell phone probably DOES have a camera on it, so that likely qualifies as being a camera expert. And I'm sure in the introductions she will be described as being skeptical. I guess that takes care of proving the second of her credentials for us.
And rigorous proof such as that is what we are in store for in this pair of episodes. Because nothing, absolutely nothing, gets by these guys. Well, unless you count spiders, geography, headlights, common sense, gravity, and the benefits of not wearing the same clothes for 8 days in a row.
For the half-season opener, we are treated to a UFO case and a Ghost case. I suppose that there IS about a 40% chance that the UFO case could also turn into a ghost case, but we'll have to wait and see.
In the UFO case, Ben, Jael, and Devin head to New Mexico to investigate the case of a UFO crash. Now, when one thinks of New Mexico and UFO crash, the first thing in most people's heads would be the 1947 Roswell crash. I don't believe that will be the case, though. Instead, the aforementioned team will try to debunk some video footage of a saucer skimming into the earth and doing a touch and go crash.
Interestingly, this footage appears to have originally been slated for S01E09. That episode ultimately became the Sasquatch run. Maybe that's why Bill couldn't read his GPS in that episode…the change up of cases meant he had to do that one BEFORE he was able to take Geographic Coordinates 101. That was almost a year ago so perhaps instead of this being one they were supposed to investigate it was rather one of the ones that was considered at the time and rejected in favor of watching Austin fall down a hill dressed as a gorilla.
I believe this is the clip that they will be investigating:
Looks like the UFO is coming down a zipline, right? Maybe Austin should have gone on this case instead.
The ghost case has Bill, Lanisha, and their stunt expert Austin going to Nevada to investigate stories of a ghost in a graveyard. Austin is probably along on this one because an ATV may figure prominently in it. This ghost will likely turn out to be a cricket…being eaten by a spider. Nevertheless, we can expect a night time investigation after they disprove the footage because, well, you never know. As Bill says: "Just 'cause the footage isn't real doesn't mean their aren't ghosts here. Now where's a flywheel for me to crank?"
Sit back, pour yourself something to get through these, and get ready to laugh in 3 – 2 – 1….

It's a shame that these networks all put their best comedies on the same night. Guess I will be watching The Middle and Modern Family and taping FoF. My abdominal muscles can only take so much guffawing in one evening….
Ah, a good time to come back, nothing like a half season opener of this caliber to return. Unfortunatly, I am losing brain cells fast and I am not even halfway through the episode. The first part that blew my mind was that Ben can drive pretty straight without having to look at the road, I call fake, also our expert Devin thought the beginning of the trajectory of their I level engine was pretty close to the original video, aka, not even close…good to see they haven't sold out
Ghost in the cemetery…. it was lens flare but since all our equipment went dead there really are ghosts there. I hate this show.
No, not ALL the equipment went dead. The production cameras seemed to be working just fine lol
Quite a predictable plot, though. In my preview I think the only thing I missed was the part about calling out the entire Nevada Emergency Response Services!

If you watch closely, there are two separate flare incidents. Also, what are the odds that his "something from Area 51?" is a meteor?
One would think that if this guy were involved in cameras he would have known to pick a slightly different vantage point to avoid the phenomenon in the first place.
