And why didn't their mock set up look the same as the original? Could it be the kid is what, 3-4yo in the original, so that puts the camera used as being 12+ years older. It was probably a lot cheaper quality 35mm autofocus camera and the strap was probably a different texture/color-lol….I know, I know, quit thinking rationally about FoF or it will hurt my head ;) But how many episodes have we seen them do this now? You got to consider the camera used to capture the evidence to get a good match!
For the person who mentioned their mom always got the finger in the bottom corner of photos….you were lucky, my mom was much better at cutting out heads off!

Behind the house? We never bothered with that, we just did it out in front so it would serve as an example to others.

Well, I did the best that I could, but the most I could do was to get them not to show it next week.

…. but the thing that really gets to me is that Chi Lan says that she managed to get a color processor to process the film. I don't think someone can just GET a color processor. First of all it is not one machine, it is two-one for the film and one for the prints. Second, both machines are BIG. The one that you see her standing over is just the one for the film. It has all of her splicing and taping equipment needed to prep the film for processing on top of it . The shot that shows a hand catching prints comming out is the paper processing machine-specifically the dryer end.Third, both of these machines weigh a ton and they have large tanks that hold the chemicals. In other words, they require some major man power and equipment to move around!! You can't just set it up anywhere. It takes time. I find it hard to believe that she just set up this 'lab' on her own and just for this investigation.
Actually you can get small, light processors for limited run applications for hobbyists. You might be thinking of commercial equipment for bulk processing.
I used to own an Ektaflex? I think it was print processor. 30 years ago now so my memory is a bit vague. But it used to use only a single chemical, about 1 – 2 litres capacity I think it was and special paper for the purpose.
Small C41 or RA-4 film processors were also available but I just can't recall the names now.
In the end I preferred plain old tank processing over the machines. It produced superior results and ended up cheaper.
I still have the darkroom but I haven't used it for some 10+ years. Like everyone else, digital photography eventually killed film for me.

Learjet- the processing set up that Chi Lan was using is the same kind that you would find in the "old" one hour photo labs. They are smaller than the gigantic commercial processors, but still large enough -and costly enough- to make me question this whole thing. The one that they show her standing over looks like just the C-41 processor. RA-4 machines are similar in size, but usually bigger. Kodak, Noritsu, Agfa, and Copal were some of the most popular brands for one-hour labs.
Digital photography killed it for me too, but you just can't replace the color quality of film!!!!

Just trying to do some catch-up reading, and all I can say is:
Curse you, Nosfer. Your reviews are so enjoyable I may have to start watching this again.

I wish I had something intelligent to contribute to this thread but I don't.
I just enjoyed seeing Jael in a swimsuit and the professional mermaid was attractive too. But what was with that ridge of fake fur on her tail?
Re the CG at the end: What if mermaids are not mammals? Fish aren't morbidly obese.
