The new team member for this season is Devin Marble who will be replacing Larry who left after having a near-life experience. Devin joins the team as a Tech Specialist.
"…as a self-made producer with over a decade of experience in filmmaking and special FX, he has become highly proficient at deciphering video, photographic, and practical paranormal hoaxes as well as accurately replicating such cases."

Devin Marble, whose IMDb bio assures us that:

Doesn't it seem that he will be stepping on the toes of Chi-Lan, who when she isn't shilling luxury RVs on H&G:
"is a photography expert; so much so that Tech TV has used her to report on the latest in technology for image capturing, photographic advancement and the science of the gadget. She has a degree in photography, and feels that this gives her an ability to decipher, break down and analyze video and still images, whether authentic or doctored."
Moreover:
"She's knowledgeable about the unexplained and she has strong opinions on it (italics added), but her tech-savvy eye gives her credibility behind the lens and when debunking video and stills captured by others."
Not to mention that she has a degree in Philosophy which gives her special psi powers and:
"She also enjoys her role as an entertainment reporter for Universal Studios Pictures in which she has interviewed A-list celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Foxx and The Rock."
Poor Devin…how can he hope to hold his own….I mean Chi-Lan is going to kick some anatomical site with her strong opinions based on "knowledge of the unexplained"…and her access to A list celebrities.
Tila Tequila, pfeh!

So they separated the two, Devin for the BoLA and Chi-Lan for Queen Mary. And I gotta say…I like Devin better. Seems to have a better focus on what they are doing (acting creds?) and more genuine, if hyperbolic, enthusiasm.
That saying…he isn't "hot". So I suspect Chi-Lan's job is safe.

What is meant by, "near-life experience"…details please.

She may be "hot" but she is no Lanisha Cole. See her qualifications below:
