OK, I have my own idea about this but my hubby along with a couple others I've asked seem to take an opposite view.

My theory is that the GH personnel were inserted to stop GH fans from changing the channel and was used to help draw that crowd into watching DT to see their "heroes", if only for a few minutes.  It would open up DT to viewers who paid little or no attention to it before.

But some people say I've got it backwards–that due to GH's fall from grace, esp. after last year's Collargate along with other dubious incidents, DT was being used to try and give some validity to GH.  Yes, I know that this season of DT has taken on some of the flavor of GH investigations.  Among some things that irked me was the way the EVP sessions were being used.  Previously, on most of the episodes where Josh used a recorder, he would simply turn it on and leave the area, returning later to see what it might have picked up.  I'll never forget the eerie results he got in the Buddhist Temple's crematorium.  Creepy.

But this season it's the usual "can you give us a sign of your presence" etc.  Every single paranormal show is doing this and it makes me want to scream.  Can't they be more creative?

Anyway, I'm off track.  I'd like to know what you folks here think about the reason for inserting GH into the show.  We did see it coming on slowly, with Josh hosting live shows, his going along with GHI etc.  Another reason why I think DT belongs on NatGeo etc.  No IMO shady crossovers.  SyFy just has gotten so slick.
