Overall, I thought season 3 was disappointing as far as their investigations.  They started doing 1 day only investigations at their chosen sites, where last season, they stayed at least 2 nights.  They didn't attempt to contact in any other language other than English. When they had Jael, they at least tried in Spanish whenever they could.  Their "evidence" was not very compelling and they did a terrible job at debunking, e.g. the "yes" at the Petra.  It just screamed way too much of GH's influence and I think we can all agree that they would have a fine show without Jason and Grant's so called expertise. I just think you can't find the "truth" if you focus too much on the hosts, don't bother trying to communicate in native languages, and not really try to make scientific effort to gather real or debunk evidence.  Put cameras on the perimeter alarms so that you can maybe visually see what is setting it off.  There was really no improvement from season 2 and season 3. Same old investigations with the same type of Blair Witch camera work.

I really think this show has great potential and Josh is a hilarious host and also not bad eye candy. It does entertain with some of Josh's great social commentary, but I think he needs to continue to find his own way of investigating.

Personally I would like to see Josh as host on a regular travel show . I agree that he's funny and good looking and really he's the only reason I watch DT . I certainly don't watch to see them wandering about in the dark trying to find something they couldn't see anyway .

I have to agree, for some reason this season of DT seemed to be lacking.   Josh had a good reputation before this show as an explorer, I’d hate to see him sell out like TAPS has done.   I guess he’s entertaining enough to  keep on watching, but I can see myself losing interest if the quality continues to slide down the GH path.

Hmmm…has GH influenced DT to any degree?  Maybe.  Is it intrinsically weird for a guy with a couple of degrees to run to a couple of plumbing service technicians like J&G for their "expertise" on the paranormal.  Yeah, sure is.  Yet…I believe that this is only the by-product of a bigger problem.

Everyone seems to like the show for different aspects and that's cool.  But what has fundamentally changed with the show?  The answer…less cryptids and more ghosts.  Simple as that.  That is what is killing the show.

With an almost straight cryptozology slant with a couple of ghost bits peppered in…it can pass.  With cryptids, you need physical evidence.  Real evidence.  Not that goobly-gook that GH and the others pass off as "evidence."  Because of this, DT rarely came away with anything.  But, no one really minded that.  In fact, it was kind of refreshing.

Enter the barrage of ghosts.  Notice anything different?  Like…a TON of "evidence."  Funny how that works out isn't it?  Try to gather physical evidence of a creature and things become quite barren.  Go after ghosts and you always come away with "mind-bottling" pieces of proof.  (…"mind-bottling"…Tongue out

If DT drops the ghost aspect maybe it would regain a little magic.  But, let's be honest, that won't happen.  Ghosts are still hot and ghosts still sell.  Cover both the ghost and cryptid angles and you're setting yourself up nicely for the future with book sales and conventions.

So, yes…season 3 overall wasn't that great.  And…it's only going to get worse.  Almost every show now there are errors and weirdness…if not worse.  Although I think that the term "jumping the shark" has actually jumped the shark itself…DT has jumped the shark.  No going home anymore kids… the King is dead.  Long live the King…

I think I've said this before, but I'll say it now anyway….

It's a good thing that this show makes me laugh because that is the only reason I watch it . I had such high hopes in the beginning, but it has evloved into the same old BS  type of show already on TV. Eventually, for me, the comedy will get boring too, and I will stop watching altogether.

Locations, Locations, locations …

Josh is a good team leader, the rest of the team is fine  The hanggliding or dancing with the locals adds some spice to the show.

The formula stays basically the same, but that's fine with me – I'm looking forward to it's return.
