I'm a fan of DT, and as such will allow much greater leeway in my skepticism in favor of them creating a product I enjoy watching.
This was an entertaining episode, even the "evidence" collected during the first ( haunted abandoned mining towns ) segment was left in the "wow what was that catagory" rather then being presented to J&G for their blessing. Allison Scagliotti as the crossover guest from warehouse 13 fit in perfectly.
The second segment ( water monster ) was a bit repititious … we can't see anything down here … but they did catch images that were probably big eels but could have been mistaken for the monster by the locals. I think they found the "truth" here. The "bug attack" was something I never want to experience.
…
Now for the REAL mystery of the show.
La Noria is not where their Virtual Earth graphics puts it, but here 20°22'45.81"S 69°50'54.23"W
Now this is less then 50 miles from where they searched for the graves of UFO aliens in S02E05 -
- no biggie there, since we know that these shows will film multiple episodes in an area and edit them out of order – it would be nice if they didn't lie to us saying they flew down and back for each show, but there is a problem with these two episodes.
In s03e06 they fly to Lima Peru, make a big deal about it was the nearest airport and driving down 1500 KM to Chile . BUT …In this episode, they fly from Los Angeles to Iquique's Diego Aracena Airport which has the longest runway in the country, and is about 40 miles from their destination.
???
Maybe that's why they don't seem to be touting that travel site they were so hopped up about ?

So what sort of activity did they catch in these abandoned mining towns?
So glad they didn't go to Jason and Grant for a review of their evidence.I know people here anyways have complained about the crossever issue with Josh going to Jay and Grant and having them check out what DT has caught on film, etc. On the TAPS 18 forum someone did ask the question, that if a town was abandoned, was there ghostly activity still going on,so i assume from this episode yes.

Hi Doctor, still, what a great gig, being paid to travel the world to look for ghosts and cryptids!
And yeah, HollyDolly, thankfully they skipped the GH crossover this time. The town was pretty creepy, there was a large cemetery and it looked like many of the graves were being excavated. They were open and skeletons were freely visible.
Aside from some personal experiences (shadows and voices if I remember), they caught one image on the thermal that appeared to be a part of a human shape in a window, and a couple good ESPs. Overall I thought it was a good episode, worth watching again.

Yeah darkeyes, that is a sweet gig. As far as the cemetery is concerned, I assume that maybe they were going to move the graves for some reason, but what i don't know.
Interesting that they caught a human shape. Could be the ghost of a former resident.
Sounds like a good episode.

Could also be the themral reflection of one of them, with it being a window and all. Josh has been pretty bad at understanding what he sees on the thermal.

I agree with you anonymous- Josh is really bad at understanding what he is looking at on the thermal!! Which surprises me actually. I would have thought that by now he would have a much better understanding of such an important piece of equipment. Oh well.
The only thing that keeps me watching this show is that it is entertaining. I laugh A LOT whenever I'm watching this show. I used to think that they had a more serious, professional attitude towards their investigations. But it's all the same. They look at "evidence" the same way every other show does. The things that I think they should be investigating further aren't, while the things that obviously should be thrown out are considered as evidence.

UH … I would bet that those graves have been like that for a long time – They were probably dug up and robbed soon after the town was abandoned. The robbers themselves might spread the word about ghosts and disappearing people to scare any visitors away.

I enjoyed the episode.
I think what was caught on thermal was a crewmember. Could even see the outline of a shirt. If they claim it wasn't a crewmember and if they are being truthful, then perhaps soemone living in the town? But since there was no evidence of that I really don't know.
In all, I was just trying to figure out if they really really needed to fly those gliders, or it was just a time filler? Oh well.
I wonder what happened to that Latina (Jael?) they had with them a while back. I know whe wasn'ta scientist but was entertaining.
