DT: Bhutan Yeti (Part 2)
by Oubliette
If this were a regular half-hour episode of Destination Truth, the investigation would probably have ended here, with the evidence taken back to the US for analyses. But this segment is one hour in length, and thus more time can be devoted to a further search for the Yeti. And so it’s onward for the DT team, as the next morning they begin a day long hike upwards towards a more eastern section of the Sakteng Nature Preserve. Here in the higher altitude and within deep and rocky canyons, a cluster of recent sightings of the Yeti have been reported.

For the mid-season finale of Destination Truth, viewers are treated to a full hour episode that brings Josh and crew back to the Himalayas in search of the mysterious and fearsome Yeti (a/k/a Abominable Snowman). In Season Two, Josh had made an amazing discovery–three footprints of an unknown animal that could well have been made by this huge apelike beast. Just over a foot long, the prints showed a massive foot with huge splayed toes. The discovery created excitement as reporters clamored to get photographs of the casts. Many felt it was a major find and indicated that these beasts do exist in the shadow of Mt. Everest.

DT: Arica Monster
by Oubliette
Up until 65 million years ago, dinosaurs were the rulers of the Earth. But a combination of cataclysmic events brought about their demise. Or did it? Reports of living dinosaurs that have somehow survived the tragic occurrences at the end of the Cretaceous have been filtering in from across the globe. Destination Truth has previously gone in search of at least one of these supposed survivors deep in Africa. In addition, DT has conducted several investigations involving lake monsters who are possibly living descendents of these marvelous prehistoric beasts.

Just in time for Halloween, this episode of Destination Truth whisks us away to mysterious and beautiful Romania, as the team goes in search of that staple of many a horror movie, the werewolf. Although the concept of a “man wolf” has existed throughout the centuries in such far flung places as China, Iceland and Brazil, it has also been a part of Romanian folklore and belief stretching far back into the mists of time.

DT: Haunted Lost City
by Oubliette
South America has figured prominently in this season of Destination Truth, and this episode was no exception. The team travels to a “haunted lost city” high in the Andes Mountains, where there are supposed stores of gold hidden by the Incas in a tunnel system designed to prevent the Spaniards from finding these hidden caches. According to news sources from 2008, this citadel was built by the Chachapoya tribe, also known as the Cloud People. The city is perched on the edge of an abyss; a location that has throughout the centuries discouraged looters and others attracted to its treasures.

From the mist-shrouded Andes Mountains, this segment whisks us away to frigid Alaska in search of the Thunderbird, a creature said to be so large that it is capable of carrying off small children. The Thunderbird has survived in the stories and legends of myriad Native American tribes from across the continent. It has been carved on totem poles in the snowy North and drawn on the war shields of tribes who roamed the great American plains. Its actual description varies: in the East it is almost wholly birdlike in appearance; but as one travels West, the depiction takes on definite reptilian characteristics. The latter would place it more in the cryptid category and hence of interest to Josh and his team.

DT: Bermuda Triangle
by Oubliette
This week the DT team tackle what is arguably the most controversial area in the world–the Bermuda Triangle. This famous region is marked by three points-Miami, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico. Supposedly, huge numbers of ships, boats and planes have disappeared from sight–many without transmitting any distress signals and under otherwise normal conditions . There are also many reports of magnetic anomalies, including compasses and other navigational aides going haywire while passing through this beautiful but often deadly region.
