In this episode of the Skeptical Viewer podcast, we discuss the Renaissance Vinoy Hotel. Why did the closet mysteriously open, and what was the source of the mysterious voice? Plus, I (Stephen) provide us with a musical recap of "Seven Sisters Inn", with profound apologies to Jimmy Buffett. See if you can catch the scream and clank that may mark the death-by-spilled-drink of my keyboard!

In this episode, we take a well-deserved break from our normal ghostly doings and "go UFO".

We all know the story. In 1947, the United States military recovered a crashed flying saucer containing the bodies of little green men. (OK, we know… they weren't green.) So what was the reality? What really crashed to Earth at Roswell, and why did the government cover it up?

First off, I should probably take a moment to reassure those of you who have been listening since episode one that you're not going crazy, the episodes have been getting shorter. Also, we didn't do it on purpose. Swear! Some topics just make for longer discussions than others. This episode is probably as short as they'll get though, and it's a good one so don't miss it!

Before you listen I want to preemptively apologize on two counts. First, if you've been listening you probably noticed that in the first two podcasts I sound like I'm on the phone. Well, we tried to fix that in this episode, but it turns out it didn't work too well. I've cleaned it up a bit but I still sound like I'm talking out of a toilet (in homage to roto-rooter, of course) so my apologies for that. We're still experimenting with the sound and we hope to finally nail it next episode.

The second apology is if I seem a bit too hard on TAPS at certain points of the discussion. I admit, there are times when I find occasional moments on the show make me want to yell at the television like it's a football game. At least during the football game it seems to help. Still, I think some of you will find this our best episode to-date, so without further ado, I bid you Enjoy!

Hello all! Hope everyone is enjoying the Skeptical Viewer podcast. In this episode, Mike and I look at the Ghost Hunters' use of thermal infrared cameras. We look at some great moments with FLIR (Nanteos Mansion, Dr. Ellis, Toys of Terror, Charlie Chaplin Studios, and Lisheen Ruins) and some not-so-great moments (Crescent Hotel, Harrington Home, and the Manson Murders). Then, in our Anomalies segment, we take a close look at TAPS's two visits to the St. Augustine Lighthouse. Finally, we go over GHI's recent episode set in Frankenstein's castle.
