So far, at almost 2 hours in, a waste of time. J & G seem uncomfortable and obviously on tape, not live, introducing the first of the 5 "scariest" episodes and then ending with Grant shamelessly shilling "Syfy Imagine Greater". Frankly, they really looked like deer in the headlights. Then the questions were so lame and their responses were ridiculous and came complete with eye rolling and uncomfortable movements. Several times one camera was on Jason while you could see he was obviously looking into another camera and reading from the teleprompter or, at worst, cue cards. They were both so awkward and Jason was absolutely the worst. He kept looking over to his right, in front of Grant and making sure he was on script with his answers. Strange for people who should be used to the camera. One question was why Jason is the one who drives to which Grant replies something like he won't let me! This is what they start with? It's just plain embarassing. As I said in the GA Halloween thread, GA was more amusing and entertaining. This is just plain dull and boring. I hope they are paying Josh well because he's just as bad. He seems though to have one tone in voice which is what we hear when he does his explanation of each DT episode. The Academy advertising is …….
Well, remember the questions last year…how old is Dustin? Or something like that. The next one (that I heard) was if all the cell phones etc that people have now give enough energy that more ghosts could be around…the answer along the lines of "it could be"
It makes you wonder why they went to taped snippets in between a viewers choice best of lineup. Did they learn from last year's debacle? Did they realize it was a debacle or did they just see that it cost them too much to stage and delivered too small (or no) return?
I've been watching the countdown and all the camera streams. This year just plain sucks, no investigation? Just a marathon with a few camera feeds? You can here all sorts of people in the background. The best thing is seeing Steve and Tango go chase down panic button hits, love to see them work. The panic button hits are just plain stupid, of course theres all sorts of sounds, there's people all over the buildings and the buildings are falling apart! Best part of the night has been Josh "brought to you by lead and asbestos which I am breathing in right now" gotta love his humor.
I expected there to be an investigation, but it all seems to be a big plug for GHA.
Very disappointed with this tonight. There's basically no reason to watch it, and I haven't since I tuned in at the start to find it to be reruns and uncomfortable scripted banter.
Between this and nearly everything coming up as "haunted" anymore, the shark is poising to jump… Very sad.
The consensus on the SyFy board from what I could see is this was a disaster. The one or two that liked it, used the excuse they were glad they were home with their kids. Well, I guess that works for some. The others were very vocal about how bad the show really was. I guess the question is, how do they rebound after this disaster especially after last year's fiasco? Jason's Twitter says they would do a "live" investigation if it was a day or two BEFORE Halloween. Doesn't that somehow disqualify it as a "Halloween" show and make it a typical weekday show live? He's also claiming they do private investigations but *insert loads of laughter here* they "fall under a confidentiality agreement". This is becoming the new mantra. Insert confidentiality agreement whenever someone questions you about anything. It stops everyone in their tracks which is exactly what they are trying to do. How clever and so unoriginal.
From looking around on Twitter and what is being said by TAPS members and their fans, it's really not good. One comment was "bait and switch". Ouch! Here's one quote from Grant's Twitter: "@Jeffreysr26 sorry to hear that. It wasn't our idea. My kids weren't disappointed to have their dad home though.about 1 hour ago from Twittelator in reply to Jeffreysr26." That's it Grant, blame everyone else. Check out Twitter and then look at the individual's tweet and you can see what they actually said to get the response. These are the ones they let you see. Can you imagine what they delete and you can't see?
She says " I think that saying one is a skeptic or one is a complete believer on either side of the spectrum is overkill …"
Curious how someone can claim to be a medium all here life yet NOT be a complete believer …. Is she saying that she might have faked it or could be schizophrenic ?
So we have another person who's been brainwashed as far as what a skeptic is…nice. She's not a skeptic but rather wants to see and go over all the data and evidence before deciding. Huh!????
In one of his tweets Jason mentioned that his daughter saw a shadow and heard sounds and hit the panic button and he made a comment that she will be a great investigator. The apple didn't too far from that tree.
Now you guys know there is nothing they could possibly do to live down the 2008 fiasco, and I think it was wise of them not to try. Plus, I just LOVE the Castle in Ireland episode — Lear Castle? Anyhow, that episode is fantastic. Barry really proved himself there, no wonder they put him on GHI. The sense of urgency is captivating — and because all the guys are out of their element in a place they have never been before, they really are scared, I think. They are confused, freaked, and this is very entertaining. Honestly, if the guy who was "attacked" and thrown to the floor (forget his name) WAS faking it, then he is damn good. I don't think he was faking it. That acting would have just been superb, and I can't give them that much credit. Maybe it wasn't a ghost, perhaps it was a team mate? Who knows, but I dont think HE knew. I think this castle episode was the best.
And I am pretty psyched out the new show they were advertising…. I am done watching them fake evidence, but would love to see them scare the pants off some newbies.
It's actually Leap Castle. Not exactly sure why you think Barry proved anything in this episode but that's just my opinion. Can you explain? I'm also not sure about your comment "The sense of urgency is captivating — and because all the guys are out of their element in a place they have never been before, they really are scared, I think. They are confused, freaked, and this is very entertaining." They are always in a place they have never been before. Only in a rare instance are they in a place they've been before except for Barry who was a ghost tour guide in Ireland. By the way, that was Dustin Pari who has been with GH for quite some time now.
The ads for GHA? Well, if you were done watching them "fake evidence", I think the best you are going to get from that show is that they will try to, as you put it, "scare the pants off some newbies". Not such a great goal in my opinion.

Right, Leap Castle. And the only thing Barry proved is that he is a good showman. I think I have finally gotten over the fact that these guys are not out there trying to prove to the world that ghosts exist. Now, to me, its all about entertainment.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they even mentioned it's raining there and has been on and off all day.

I don't quite agree with this
…there is no poising, that shark is so far back in the rear view mirror that it's a mere dot!

The entire show seemed to be nothing more than a 5 hour infomercial for Syfy with some GH reruns thrown in for good measure.
Nosfer @ 1:42 pm
I missed the GH reruns…when did they sneak those in LOL
The Doctor @ 2:31 pm
Are they planing on having their evidence review during a rerun of last years evidence review ?
Nosfer @ 2:34 pm
Evidence Review? We don't need no stinking evidence review…place is haunted, 'nuff said!
