Announcement: Twittering from Dragon*Con
This weekend, my lovely wife and I will be attending Dragon*Con, a huge science fiction convention held in Atlanta, Georgia. I'll be attending the skeptic and podcasting tracks, with occasional forays into their X track. You can follow my adventures via my Skeptical Viewer twitter feed, stephenskepv. If you don't speak twitter but want to contact me this weekend, my email is stephenskepticalviewer at gmail.com.
I hope to cross paths with our favorite paranormal investigators, so watch for the after-action report!

Or is it "tweeting"? It sounds so idiotic I can never remember.

Have a good time Stephen and pass our good wishes along to the dynamic duo.
Maybe you'll also get to meet the wonderful Joe and Diana Avena as well.
Question: Will you and your lovely wife be sporting the latest in Skeptical Viewer t-shirts during this event?

Stephen @ 11:10 pm
Assuming I can find them, yes! I vaguely recall doing something… clever… with them to make sure I brought them on this trip. Unfortunately, I am occasionally so clever that I outsmart myself.

Today's micro-report: got to hang around with Joe Nickell for a couple of hours. Tango and Steve walked by and nodded at the SV t-shirt. Currently donating blood and typing this with my left thumb.

I just wish I had a few hours with Steve to educate him with an advanced EMF lesson and how to use better equipment and to dispel some EMF myths.

I went to Dragon con this weekend and attended one of the Ghost Hunters panels. Later that night I was sitting in one of the bars at the Marriott, and in walks Grant!! He graciously mingled, laughed and joked with everyone. He gave me a big hug and we took a picture together! When I was leaving, I was walking on the sidewalk and coming in the other direction was Dustin and Joe. Talk about good luck. Naturally I stopped them. I think they were just as excited as I was! I got big hugs from both of them as well and pictures and we chit chatted for a few minutes. They were very sweet! Getting to meet them made the cost of the ticket well worth it. I didn't get to personally meet Jason though. Maybe next time.

And I'm back in sunny San Jose, CA. Sorry I didn't tweet much over the weekend– in-hotel cell phone reception was spotty. I had some amazing experiences, some of which I can even tell you about! Look for a con report in the next couple of days, probably some additional articles, and one or two forthcoming podcasts.

Glad to see you are back from Atlanta. Looking forward to your reports. Just wandered over briefly to Jason's Twitter. He has posted a few comments about a skeptics talk "people" attended but never mentions who actually went. Check out his comments from yesterday, 9/7, on http://twitter.com/jchawes.

alicat– there was a talk called "The Truth About Ghost Hunting" (I think) that, despite Jay's comments, wasn't particularly about the GH TV show (it was about ghost hunters in general, little-g little-h), never mentioned demons, and didn't call GH fake (they did say that they didn't know what they were doing). Other than that, Jay's comments are right on!

I guess then I shouldn't be surprised with Jason, once again, trying to muddle the truth. Anyone not being there (and I'm guessing that incluldes the legion of GH fans who follow him on Twitter) would be led to believe TAPS/GH and, in particular Jason and Grant, were being "attacked" yet again. This is what bolsters the die-hard fan and causes them to act with blinders on. To me, that one tweet actually about a panel at Dragon Con and not the drivel about Jason's personal habits or the characters at Dragon Con which you say is dead on, proves to me he's all about the money which I've known for a very long time now. Thanks Stephen. Now that you have been "found", it's nice to hear your take on the subject.
