Lullaby Lane

Lullaby Lane is a family owned store that sells baby stuff. That's basically about the size of it. The family and some employees reported a bunch of strange things and they believed it was the spirit of this woman "Jean" who used to work with the original owners (current owner's parents) of the store.

Most of the stuff reported took place in the stock room/office. Reported phenomena: Footsteps, a chair moving on its own, hearing big band music from no apparent source. Steve and Tango didn't take long to find a huge crack in the wall which led straight out into an alley. Steve went for a walk outside and Tango heard everything plain as day from inside the stockroom. Very nice debunk!

Jason and Grant noticed there were extremely high (100+) EMF readings in this area that was essentially surrounded on three sides by electrical wires and boxes — and this area incorporated the office area where the chair was said to move. Nothing proven or debunked here, but it certainly opens the possibility of whether the high EMF was just making some people who stayed in that area too long a little jumpy.

They didn't catch anything on video, but the interesting thing is the stuff they caught on audio was actually pretty clear for once. It could certainly be due to the human tendency to hear speech patterns where none exist, but while the first EVP might have said, "Where's Carrie?" or "Don't be afraid" depending on who you asked, the second one seemed to say very clearly, "There is no Jean here" — and this in direct response after Grant specifically asked for "Jean" to make herself known. There was a third EVP which could have been, "Please just leave us alone" but the second one was by far the most interesting.

All-in-all, even after being completely disgusted by the complete lack of skepticism in last week's episode, I was pretty impressed. Of course, there is always the possibility the TAPS team took the tapes back to their hotel room, made the "EVP's" and then digitally edited them in — I'll leave that possibility open because well, it's something we KNOW is possible, as opposed to communicating with spirits. Still, if the TAPS team is manufacturing evidence at that level then there's really not much point in even watching the show, so for now we're going to say this investigation was pretty solid and the one EVP in particular was really impressive and doesn't seem to lend itself to being easily debunked.

(UPDATE, October 4th): I do feel the need to add one last detail, and this is kind of a sour note here, but the team is apparently now consistantly using the FLIR camera with the timestamp turned off. So, although Jason and Grant never "got back to us" like they said they would regarding the Manson FLIR fiasco, the episode itself has had the offending footage removed from rebroadcasts and they've made sure their new FLIR footage won't have any timestamps.

The fact that these particular actions were taken, and taken in silence despite promised explanations suggests that the TAPS team is less concerned about whether or not their show airs doctored footage than they are with whether the footage is easily proven to have been doctored. In particular it really makes absolutely zero sense to remove the timestamp because other than the anomolies themselves the timestamp is the second most valuable piece of information. It puts the images from the recording into context.

Turning the timestamp off, especially considering it only started being done following the Manson controversy, is clearly the action of someone that does NOT want their evidence scrutinized. So, although this episode's findings weren't as outrageous (and ridiculous) as its predecessor, I fear what to expect from future episodes in light of this clear policy of deliberately making the evidence LESS verifiable.

I used to really love the show but I have seen them change…they really do seem more about "entertainment" now. I think that the celebrity got to their heads. It seems to be "acted" now. As far as the FLIR, Wow, removing the timestamp pretty much says it all……..I was always pretty skeptical about ghosts and such but tried to keep an open mind despite my doubts but after this incriminating situation I am ready to file this show with the others like John Edwards and such….

I agree–I think the EVP were faked, and were specifically made in such a way as to make the ending have more of a dramatic twist. Incidentally, the "twist" is similar to the one in the EVP film "White Noise": a husband starts out using EVP to contact his wife but winds up contacting something else. Plus, I just don't trust those two young guys; the one with the basball hat looks like a small-time crook or something. I definitely could see him faking a recording, or pretty much anything else for that matter.

I wonder if there may be homeless vagrants living under the structure, secondly what was on the site before the store
